Hey thanks for all your support, It makes me feel better. Iam still a wreck. Iam having trouble focusing. Last night I had to much to drink, I fell off a rolling chair. My arm is all bruised up, I hit my head on my glass shelf. I feel so pathetic, I cant even drink in my own house with out doing something stupid. Plus My car is still in the shop, from my car accident. My mom has to drive me to the university. I feel guilty for putting her through this. The insurance company is giving my dad a fit about my car. I feel horrible about that too. I thought it was the other drivers fault, but he says it was mine. I dont know anymore. Iam so confused, I just want this nightmare to be over. My parents keep asking me if Iam o.k. Should I tell them what Iam going through? I dont want to upset them. Any suggestions?

Its really hard to tell them, but i did it today. I can't really say if it helps or not yet. I'mnot really sure. I will say the car ride home today with my dad was a nightmare. I think though in the long run its better to let them know whats going on.

Yes, I think if at all possible it would be wise to tell them how you feel. They might sense something is wrong anyway and feel powerless. And although they might be saddened that you are not doing well, at least there is something they could do - from 'simple' understanding to getting help. In the long run, all of you might benefit from being open about it.

Also, try not to be so hard on yourself... (((daisy2)))

If you can't talk to your parents, go to www.connectwithkids.com , and preview a video called Shattered. It's pretty compelling and maybe you could watch this with them, It may be the kick in the pants you need to sraighten up.

You should really tell them how you are feeling. I hope that things get better soon! *hugs*

Hi daisy - welcome to PC!

I read about your car accident - am glad you're "ok".

If they were my parents, I wouldn't lie to them - but I'd phrase it something like "I feel really rotten about that car accident and all this aftermath stuff". That would get the point across, and perhaps would be enough for your parents to hear. Unless you want to tell them more? Have you thought about seeing someone at the university (counsellor or T) for a session or two to go over all of this? They can help put things in perspective, and give you clues or a starting point about how to talk to your parents without worrying them.

Another thing about parents worrying - chances are that they already are worrying about you because they ask you if you're okay. Parents worry, because they love you and would like to make sure you're okay and safe. Can't stop parents from worrying really, they do it and they don't even give any clue that they are!!

Hope you find a solution to your problem/issue soon Falling apart

Thanks for the advice. Iam going to tell them, Iam just waiting for the right time. I might see a counselor at my college. Iam taking one day at a time.
