I can't seem to make good decisions at work anymore. I'm supposed to be a scientist and instead I can't remember things and can't think clearly and intelligently. It's very hard to talk to anyone, which really makes my job destined to fail. Am all alone here at work most of the time, with others having retired or moved on to other places. I know my job can't last much longer, and my wife doesn't work so we are really in for trouble with all our bills before long. Add to that I have a blood clot and blasting tinnitus. Just can't concentrate. Thanks for reading - wishing you best of success with your struggles.

Hi, movingdepression. Sorry you are having such a rough time with getting your work done. Depression can be like that. I, also, have a hugh blood clot in my leg, so I know how tough it is waiting for them to go away. They found my May 2 and it's still huge but half the size it was. Never had tinnitus but can imagine it would be quite distracting.

Have you seen a doctor? Any chance meds might help? There are also others here that believe you can manage it without meds. I'm just not one of them. Mine gets serious if I don't take my meds.

Hope you get the support you need here.

Thanks, Gayle. It's so nice to get support! I have seen a psych 3x now (every other week) and have been on Celexa for a few months. Not sure if it the med is helping, but my Dr. only wanted to increase the dosage when I told him I had doubts about its effectiveness.

Sorry to hear you're also dealing with a clot - I'm on warfarin for that - bet you are too. Good you're seeing progress with it though.

Hi there. Sorry to hear you are having to deal with multiple issues. I am in a similar position (with the depression). I'm an academic and can't get a coherent thought together. Or concentrate on anything for more than 5 minutes. This has been going on for months. I am very worried about the impact on my job and on my future. I am hoping that therapy will help.

Best of luck OP. I hope you'll get it sorted out.

Hello "it_will" - thanks for sharing your situation - sounds very similar to mine. Glad to hear you're going to try (or have started) therapy. I seem to be worst in the morning and then gradually somewhat better during the day. But yes, focusing on stuff, and remembering things, is very difficult right now. Just want to wake up and have the depression (and physical stuff) gone, but of course it doesn't happen that way! Thx again for your support - you have mine too!
