I wished it didn't bother me but it did. T quit me, she went to holastic healing that I couldn't do,,, she finally sent notes - I read them.. really depressed... thought that I would be OK but as the night wears on... can feel the depression settling in.. I just hate this feeling - of going down...
I don't want to upset anyone so I won't be specific - I just generally got the idea that we were reallllyyyy on different pages... I thought after reading the notes " how could I see someone for 3-4 yrs and have her so not understand me"... and the the feeling starts coming on me....

it can be a shock to read ur notes...mine had some discrepancies in them when i requested them off my last T. remember notes are a brief summary to jog a Ts memory and thus they're not going to show a comprehensive understanding, even if the T did have one. also they're highly subjective and the words she wrote down may mean a totally different thing to her than they did to you. hope u feel better soon senistive Reading my T notes... depressed -

also, my last T even told me she would never into much detail with notes. for my safety, if for any reason she was summoned to court, her patients wouldn't have highly personal things revealed, thus protecting them.

Hello Ihope you are feeling better at this tiem.. I am leaving you the hotline number in case you need to call a hotline for your depression. 1-800-273-TALK. I feel that you need to get another therapist ASAP, since you are depressed, and I feel that you need to put the notes down and quit reading them, because it is causing harm to your mental health. I really feel that it is really a blessing in disguise that you were let go from your therapist, if you were not getiing the therapy that you needed, Now you can have another chance to find a therapist that is more to your liking, and meet your needs more adequately.. Some things happen for a reason, and you should not let the negativity on the notes make an impact on your life this severely, You should look toward today and the future to be more promising, and try to find the care that you need so that you have a better life. Try to think of it as a new beginning, and a new start towards a better life. Take care I hope the best for you sincerely Soidhonia

Thank you one and all. I'm still depressed but will try drag myself up... no more reading the notes!!!,,, It is a new opportunity isn't it? I can try a new therapist... self talk here...

Wish me luck, I have a sleep study tomorrow night.. for years I have avoided it... made appointments, cancelled them, didn't turn up to one that I didn't cancel - kinda thought that would do it - I figured they wouldn't give me another appointment... not very nice of me I know....
I just really have a difficult time sleeping let alone with all the montiering... my recent brochial asthma diag. has gotten me to go... I never knew that asthma could be so miserble..

I wonder if all my nightmares will show up somehow?... had them all my life... they are really vivid....
I'll let you know...

Take care....

T notes are for the T's. My T didn't take notes but 20 years into therapy was calling my husband by the wrong name :-) I don't think things like that are necessarily important; what's going on in your T's life is important to them (more important actually) and I try to remember the adage, "Your therapy should be the most important thing in your life but it's not the most important thing in your therapist's life."

Sorry about the asthma problems at night. I have that too. When my asthma starts acting up (so I have to use my maintenance inhaler in addition to the Arbuterol) it shows up first at night. I hate suddenly waking up "uncomfortable" and having to sit up and get my act together for a bit. Good luck on your sleep test, hope it tells you something useful.

Good for you Freewill. Yes, absolutely, it's a new opportunity to find a good therapist and who knows, maybe the next one will be better than the last.
I hope you make the sleep study. I have always thought that I would like to do that. Maybe you will find out some things from that also.

I agree with your decision to put the ONE Ts notes aside now. I'm sorry she failed you. I hope she was at least useful to get you to this place you are at now... except the depression.

Anytime you lose a T, or change Ts it's "traumatic." It's a big change, imo. I personally don't know how I would do at that. senistive Reading my T notes... depressed -

But since she didn't really ever connect with you, it's good that you two have separate paths now senistive Reading my T notes... depressed - Yes, a new opportunity to find someone to take you further along this healing path! senistive Reading my T notes... depressed -
