I'm so depressed tonight. Cannot stop crying.

I'm going through this series of surgeries on my feet so most of the time my available activities are heavily restricted.

Nothing interests me anymore and when I try to force myself to do something it just makes me feel worse.

I don't know how to distract myself or fill my hours anymore. Can't work or go to school. Sit at home all day, unless I'm at a doctor's appointment.

Having a really bad night. Days are sometimes better.

((becca)) That must be tough! I know when I was off my feetfor 5weeks last yr due to a back problem, I felt i'd lost my independence. It was very hard adjusting to my new limitations at that point, it feels like a loss, like I was in mourning everyday. Maybe its a bit like that for you also?

Becca!

So sorry to hear how depressed you've been. But of course you're feeling down with all the pain and surgery and all that. It's inevitable. But I sure hope it gets better soon.

So I remember you started seeing a therapist recently. How do you like her? I hope that's going well and that she can help you some.

Jeff - I just started seeing a therapist, although it's a little early to know if it'll help yet.

Mouse - I think it's the loss of independence that's bothering me a lot these days. It's been over 18 months since I've been able to walk more than very short distances and I'm living with my parents again in their house. I don't feel like I have my own space or control over anything anymore.

(((WinterRose))) I've got a good feeling about the surgery on Tuesday. And hey, they're letting me wear pants in the OR, which is great.

(((Talulah))) I appreciate it, I know you're going through your own stuff.

Sidony - Yeah, I've seen her twice so far. I like her, but I don't think I'm really getting anything out of it yet. I think we're just covering background info so far, if that makes sense.

Good luck on Tuesday Becca. I hope it goes well and you get back that independence that we all need, soon thereafter.
