I don't feel that I fit in here or can express my opinions here. I feel so depressed and alone. I thought these forums were support for people who were suffering and were for support and that people could express feelings freely in a safe place. I guess I was wrong and I just don't fit in. People seem to not like my opinions. For the record, I'm not talking about the two posts that were removed.

I'm sorry that you are not finding PC to be a supportive place. In general I find it to be very supporting, but can understand you feeling this way if you are not getting good responses to your posts. I would suggest that you give it a little more time and get to know a few people that can be supportive to you. Maybe you will feel better about it with a little more time. I hope so. I like to think that everyone should be welcome and receive support.

What is it that makes you feel like you don't fit in?? if you don't mind me asking.

Often times, that's when I go mute is when I feel different, so I have to speak up!!! My situation is not like everyone elses.... but that's okay. Being different isn't a problem, the issue is letting it grow inside you until you can't stand it. I'm new to your situation but I also know that I don't have all the details, but that's okay. Just keep posting and you will find someone that you can relate to, it may take time but I have found that being on here really does help me to overcome some of my challenges.

I hope you find the support you seek. Best of luck, and if you need any thing feel free to PM me, I'll be there for you!!!

Don't give up on us! I remember that one of my first posts here got viewed like 53 times and not a single person responded to it. I asked to have it deleted.

Some of the reasons I might read a post and not respond are: 1) don't have any relevant experience so have nothing to offer or 2) I'm in a bad place emotionally at the time and all my brain will seem to offer is "uhhhhhh".

There's always the element of randomness, too. There are hundreds or maybe thousands of people reading a huge number of posts and most of them are feeling less than great themselves, or they probably wouldn't be on the forum to begin with. So please give it a few more tries, okay? I hope you will.

Me - head currently throbbing from an allergy headache, hearing fire engines go by and dreading my therapy appt. this afternoon. I'd rather take a nap.

Hi AnxietyGirl

I know how you feel, sometimes I feel like I am a thread killer, one post from me and the thread dies a death, never to see the light of day again. Some days are slower than others, threads started weekends can seem to get fewer replies for some reason.

I know I found it hard when I first came to PC and it seemed like I was the newbie that didn't fit in, I can see now that was just a feeling I had and not a true reflection. Jo_Thorne mentioned how one of her threads got no replies, I've had that too with a thread that got over 200 views, no replies and two hugs. I'd bared my soul in the thread by writing about something I'd never spoken about to anyone and it was a horrible, lonely experience. So I totally understand your feelings but I honestly believe that sometimes not getting a response is just bad luck or bad timing.

I've checked out your posts and they are positive, supportive comments, you have already made a valuable contribution to the PC community.

I find the daily check-in threads are a good way to get to know people in a less intimidating way than starting a thread and wondering who will reply. The downside of check-in threads is that you generally don't get replies to something you post but you know you've been heard because of the "hugs" or "thanks" you get. Also, on the daily check in threads I've met some incredible people who know just when to reach out to with a personal message (PM).

The depression check in thread can be found here: Daily Check In

There is also one on the anxiety board, too.

I hope you decide to stick around, PC has helped me a lot and I hope that it can help you too.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
