I think you can relate to what I wrote on the title because that's basically what we always hear from the people we love. I can't go to school anymore, because I'm really drained and my face just looks sad, and I have confused feeling of both sadness and feeling okay at the same time, but overall , I can't do anything anymore, I can't enjoy life like I used to, even though I was depressed back then as well. I'm just laying in bed, thinking or just watching something, or surfing the web.

When they see me skipping school, and ask me why, I say "I really have nothing to say, I don't know how to explain this", and they're reply to me is "You're just being lazy", and that happened today, and got me really angry.

I can't flat out say I'm depressed because I'm pretty sure they believe that depression is just something easy to get over, and they most likely have no idea what it is to begin with, even if they think they do.

That's the frustrating thing. People just don't understand. They can't understand. I am having one of those days where I just can't seem to motivate myself to do anything. My phone keeps ringing and I don't even want to answer it. I am beyond tired, exhausted. I think depression saps your energy and makes a person exhausted.

Are you able to get any help from a doctor, psychiatrist, or counselor? Even a school counselor?

Thank you so much waterknob

I'm getting help, but I'm refusing treatment. I'm finally giving up completely, and I will ask for medication. I just can't handle the pain anymore. I want to do something.

And I'm sorry you're depressed, I know how bad it is

Hi Renounced,

I'm sorry you're struggling
Sometimes things can lose all their importance, seem overwhelming, exhausting or just simply impossible.
But one of the most important things is that you know you're not being lazy, because you're not!!
And if those people don't/can't/won't understand then please reach out to people who will.......including to us
So.........one hour/day at a time and just do as much as you can do, sometimes got to lower those expectations on yourself when it comes to depression.
And good that you're planning on reaching out for some more professional help.

Thank you so much Alison

You're the first people I go to when I get upset or depressed, or have any problem at all

I will try to practice and do some tasks as you suggested, but it will be a little hard at the beginning, because I'm completely drained and not ready to do anything at all. I'm feeling better now actually, so I might just try!!

Thank you Alison for having such great insight
