I have everything most people wish in their lives, yet I am sinking into a deeper and deeper depression day by day. I do not know what to do.

I try to force myself to do things I used to like doing as much as I can. Also talking with someone close or even someone that has depression helps so you can perk each other up a bit.

I seek medical assistance because depression is a medical condition.

Hi PolarBunny,
Welcome to PC!!! I'm sorry you're struggling ![]() You say you have everything most people wish for in their lives.........but have you got what you wish for.........sometimes you can wish for/need more than/different things from the things that make other/most people happy..........and that can be OK, in fact that can be good if you aim more for them (depending on what those different things are of course!!). Or another angle.........you can have everything you could dream of/the "perfect" life for you.........but that doesn't stop depression stepping onto the scene/taking over. But you're taking a great first step in talking about it, and thankyou for sharing with us. As you probably know anyway it can be incredibly hard to shake/move away from those feelings but reaching out for support can sometimes help a bit. And on here.........well there's some great people who can offer you understanding and support.........and ideas of different things that have helped them or/and may help you a bit. So again..........welcome!! And if you want to talk a bit more about what's going on for you.............. ![]() Alison |

OK. Having everything that most people wish for is certainly going to help a lot even if you feel bad right now. It gives you time to heal and it gives you options. Here's what I think is the best plan: http://forums.psychcentral.com/4262681-post105.html where the first thing to do is to check for underlying purely medical or nutritional issues. There are quite a few possibilities. You may also find these notes to be helpful for understanding what's going on in your head. http://egg.bu.edu/~youssef/SNAP_CLUB...0164151576.pdf ![]() |

I started exercising again, now I am in both physical and emotional pain. My husband is trying so hard to make me happy and I just fake smile because I dont want him to know how much I dont care about life.
Just an example, my husband got me a fitbit so I would be able to connect with others getmotivated for moving. Well yesterday I did 11 miles and won the weekend warrior challenge. I would not let anybody else win, but It did not give me any satisfaction. I used to be an athlet, no big deal anymore to win. Thank you all for your time to read my post and to reply. As a return I only can entertain you with my messy life. Last edited by bluekoi; Aug 04, 2015 at 10:12 PM. Reason: Merge three posts into one. |
