I tell other people that they shouldn't cut/self-harm and now I have started again myself it has been close to a year since I stopped & now that I have given in the urge to cut is stronger than ever. No one ever noticed before when I wasn't trying to hide it & now that I am hiding it they certainly won't notice. I just want to give up. I can think of nothing better than to goto sleep & never wake up. I obviously don't deserve to give advice to others because the advice I give I don't believe in. After all what kind of of scumbag would say go ahead keep hurting yourself or just kill yourself

Giving advice and practicing it are two different things... you're not an hypocrite, it just means you have problems following what you know it's the right thing to do.

The important thing is trying. Everybody is going to have their moments of weakness You don't have to feel bad for it. You're just human.

I'm sorry you're feeling this bad.

Everyone slips up. I know I just posted on another thread of yours a few minutes ago but I just read this one. I give a lot of advice on here and for people around me, how often do I actually follow my own advice; not enough. I'm a total mess but it helps me to try and help others. The desire to self harm is going to be stronger now and it is going to take a lot more out of you to fight it. Think of it like itching a mosquito bite for the first time that in an hour. You thought it itched before, hell no 'cause now it's on fire. The impulse to self harm works the same. You might slip up again and again and again. If you can't stop itching, slowly ease off. Work to go a few more hours, to days, to weeks and so on without self harming. I don't know if it works for everyone but it's what I had to do. Self harming is addictive, like any addiction, you have to work on the root of the problem before unwavering sobriety can even be imagined.
Best of luck. I'll be thinking about you today.
Thanks for this!

I have found your postings to be extremely helpful because you are a good and caring person. You have touched many at this forum. Please don't give up. I know your problem with SH and SI makes you feel week but your posts on this forum are strong and outspoken. Your take on life and your illness is touching and unique. You matter.
