The bad news for me is im falling even deeper into depression and despair to the point that i cant even look after myself. The good news is that my social worker if finally realizing how bad it is for me. She said i may go to hospital if this continue. She also asked me if i want to go into a supported accomodation. I dont want to go to either though. I just want them to give me a good medication that will help me. But they dont want to give me anything that works. I wish i had money. People with money can get private treatment and probably get the medication that works.
Ive been to hospital before and theres lots of people that go there who are not as unwell as me. Im scared they will judge me when they see me. Infact i know they will. You can tell by my appearance that i am not well. I know i will be an outcast if i go there and that wont help me get better. So i dont know what to do any more

I'm really sorry. Why do you think they don't want to give you meds?

Be strong, we're with you
Thanks for this!

Hi, Keep in mind that if you are in the hospital you are more likely to be put on a medication that works faster than if you are outpatient.
Thanks for this!

They did give me meds but only meds that dont work. I know there are better meds they can give me but they dont want to because they are addictive. The doctor told me the meds he gave me dont work with everyone and he knew they dont work with me but wont change them so i threw them away.

Since you're more unwell than a lot of others, you will probably get more attention and treatment. It's the hospital's job to handle urgent cases more promptly and with more seriousness.

I don't think you'll be an outcast. People go to hospital because they're struggling with health problems. Hospital staff and other patients are not expecting to see people who look and feel great. People who go to hospital aren't looking or feeling great either, and they're probably too preoccupied with their pain and getting better to judge other patients.

Hang in there and have hope. Sometimes, hope is all we have to help us fight back against life. I wish you the very best.
Thanks for this!

Is it possible for you to get a second opinion, perhaps through medical professionals at the hospital? Switching psychiatrists or going inpatient has led to medication and treatment changes in my case, presumably because prior treatments weren't working. One doctor might not be sympathetic, but that doesn't mean that other doctors will also be unwilling to explore alternative treatments.

Inpatient treatments are also likely to involve quick-acting drugs, as another poster has mentioned, since the goal is to stabilize you and get you on the road to recovery as soon as possible.
