I challenge you

Intelligent - everyone is
There’s allot to life - wouldn’t be suicidal if it were true for them
Young - what will happen when they’re old? You have no idea how worse it could be
Others could be hurt - well they don’t care enough about the suicidal person enough to keep them alive and feeling fulfilled, so why should those who suffer care?

So really, why the stupid motive to let people live?
Especially with the increasing awareness, there should be awareness there is NO point in letting people live on suicide hotlines and scratching the surface for good therapy

Not enough compassion to understand one has no hope

Why blame others for how I feel? That's as logical as me blaming a doctor for me having cancer. The doctor can treat it, he can work his *** off trying to keep me alive, but if the cancer kills me, then it kills me. It's not his fault nor incompetence.

What I've been through, what I still go through every single day of my life has nothing to do with the people who fight like hell to keep me alive. All except for one simple fact: They are worth me continuing to try.

Everyone has their own story, their own motivation to keep going and I sure as hell don't speak for everyone. For me, it's the other people.

That’s kind of an impossible question to answer. No one can really open up someone’s heart shine a flashlight in there and say “ok I see you blew your happiness fuse. I’ll just pop in a new one and your good to go.” The way I see it your focus has become quite narrow. That happens in mental illness. All we see is a long tunnel of pain, sadness, frustration, the wrongs others have done us. That’s all we see. It’s like stumbling around in a house of horrors and trying to find the door. The door is there.

If you have pets then it would be unfair on your pets to end it all, that was what kept me going when I was suicidal (Ebony came into my life and I know for sure if I'd ended it all back then, it wouldn't have just been me who died, Ebony would have died prematurely as well)

How about a doctor who mistreats your cancer for profit?

No, I am implying people who are supposed to take care of you can either make mistakes and not take responsibility or mistreat for the sake of profit

Part of your statement is true. Yes there are people supposed to take care of you that didn’t. Yes there are people who don’t take responsibility. Yes there are people who mistreat for profit. BUT NOT ALL PEOPLE. Not even most people.

You are looking at life through a soda straw made up of your firmly held belief That everything is bad, every one is mean, everyone is greedy. Some people because their own beliefs will agree with. I am not one of those people. There is beauty in this world, there are good people in this world. I didn’t see them until I decided to believe that they existed.

Umm... no, please don’t say I said words I never said

I don’t know if this helps, I don’t even know if it is the right advice

But I think eventually all suffering will end. All I keep saying to myself is “wait until tomorrow” or if it gets really bad “wait until the next hour”, I say this because we will die anyway, one day

Also I have read and seen countless stories of people who look back and are grateful that they didn’t end it. For some gets better at least

I have friends who turned their back on me when I was physically and mentally ill but that’s because they tried and gave up on me.

And pets too, as someone else said. There’s nothing more comforting than a dog who treats you like you are the most important thing in existence

Potential.

A depressed person has a reduced perception of their potential, but that potential still exists - it's a question of how to change that perception.

Here's what keeps me from committing suicide, when I'm really depressed:

There really is no good way to do it that is available to me. Every method I know of involves pain, misery and the possibility that the attempt might fail, leaving me alive and more damaged. I'm looking to escape pain . . . not cause it.

The best, most pain-free way to terminate life is the way veternarians euthanize our pets when they are old and suffering. That involves the intravenous injection of a large dose of barbiturate. Humans don't have that option.

Swallowing a bunch of pills could result in long hours of suffering, while you wait for the end. In physician-assisted suicide, where the doctor prescribes a bunch of sleeping pills (like Seconal), some people have lasted 48 hours.

I've seen two people who survived self-inflicted gunshot to the head. They thought they had a fool-proof method. They found out that just about no human plan is foolproof. They lived, but they were in persistant vegetative states. Even if a person inflicts a lethal shot, what are those last few moments like? Could be pretty painful.

There is a theory that says the mind does not necessarily lose awareness as soon as heartbeat and respirations stop. As long as there is oxygenated blood inside the skull, parts of the brain might still function. I'm not eager to experience that.

I've researched it. I haven't found a guaranteed pain-free way to go.

My doctor makes more in a day than I do in a month. Why would he mistreat me for profit? There's no logic there. I doesn't make sense.

Of course it doesn't make sense, but I was giving it as an implication, nothing personal

Hummm...one has to question if this is a real question or just someone looking for responses. I’ve read some interesting responses which are positive and supportive yet, I’m not sure these responses will illicit the answer the poster is looking for. That’s because they alone know the answer already (internally). They “ALONE” will made the fatal decision (if they end their life). I pray they don’t because ending ones life is “final” there is no “let’s try this again.” The the outcome is eternal and that can mean living a greater Hell in a place worst than the present. Finally, I’m not living in their present situation, or their shoes so I don’t know how difficult life is for them, I’d rather turn to a professional or a minister before choosing a drastic choice such as suicide. Because once it done it’s done; and often those left behind are emotionally scared by the selfish act of suicide. There is help in the world before reaching this decision I’d seek out help and stop perpetuating the present painful cycle.

There comes a point in life when you are free to make your own life. You can make decisions for a better life of not. VO often comes here to talk about others mistreatment of himself. I think he is now an adu!t and can improve his situation, but he doesn't even try to make his next moment better. Negativity just begets more negativity. How about starting a gratitude journal. It might be a challenge at first, but it is a step towards breaking the negative self talk. And there is something in him that wants to remain among the !living because after months of posts he is still here with us. Only VO can start the process to make his life brighter one moment at a time. It's the to stop the blame game for it makes nothing better. Time to take some responsibility for making a better life. When I am thinking everything and everybody is treating me wrong it is usual!y 90% of me that's the problem. The first steps are often the hardest, but with earnest effort there is a good chance for positive change.

I am not being heartless. I have had my share of negative life experiences. I have been on the bottom rung of the ladder many, many times but not so much anymore.

So take make such a blanket statement about it being selfish and stupid is just an uneducated statement.

There is a huge difference between passing away naturally and killing yourself. One is a choice the other isn't.

The OP wants to die because some chick won't return his affections. While I understand that being rejected is painful, I've been there myself, it's not worth killing yourself over.
