yesterday someone in real life said I was a worrier....
I was pleased with my response...I said I definitely was a worrier...
I am a worrier and that hasn't changed since early in my life...
I thought of the AS IS bus and I was comfortable with that worrier thing..

today I am looking at a website called FATS OF LIFE...
I take omega-3 fishoil capsules every day hoping
that my brain will be better....I am interested in
NUTRITIONAL PSYCHIATRY.....I hope there is help there....

I remember a long time ago I studied about pellagra....
and what effect it had on the brain if you didn't get that one vitamin niacin...
I am hoping again to get some results...maybe taking more omega-3..

I have been taking omega-3 fish oil tablets for at least 15 years. In my case, the fish oil has had no discernible effect on my depression-anxiety. However, it is entirely possible, even probable, the fish oil has had other, general health benefits. For instance, my father passed away at a relatively young age. I have exceeded that age by several years, and my biomarkers are generally solid.

In your unique circumstances, dear Little Turtle, the effect of the fish oil may be more pronounced. May your "experiment" succeed!

I too, take omega 3 everyday. 1000mg per day which provides 250mg of EPA and DHA.

It may help me and like Rohag, it helps general health
I am not noticing any change re mental or emotional health.

Good luck Little Turtle, I hope you see some benefit.

Apparently having high inteligence has a very high risk for mental health disorders... I was reading an online article on that. The obvious, but, I think people are forgetting the obvious.
I suddenly realized I might be in that group (not wanting to be pretencious). It's very scary, because suddenly I feel emotionaly ok (although a turmoil of anxiety) and cognitively more or less ok, and I am overexcited about everything.
Emotional abuse with high inteligence and sensivity is a receipe for disaster.
Worriers and obsessives...

I was just wondering the link bettwen Emotional and cognitive inteligence and depression. What gets influenced when you are depressed? Both, emotions and cognition.
Can that be random. Why the two? They must be linked somehow more than the obvious. That is that entity (I can't remember the name) of high sensitive people who are also very smart.
I am not being very clear, but the three are clearly realated.

Mulan, I think that depression absolutely messes with our brain’s ability to send and receive messages.

My "friend" who is very smart is also very perceptive and emotional. He doesn't uppen up with everybody, but I can feel it.
I am sensitive and emotional because I developed a attentive behaviour to other people responses and needs. I am an observer and the human behaviour is a thing that interestests me. But it was not only the mental health issues speaking, I think I am the more messed up sibling because I am the most smart (whatever, I had an very highly inteligent uncle I suspet commited suicide, it runs in the family, inteligence and mental health issues, I have to deal with both...).
Sorry for the s word. :/

I discovered recently I have a lot to think about. Many, many conclusion and memories about this life are jumping in my head.

So I dare to say to yourself, that are searching for a cause of the depression, to not be your own doctor. I certainly was mine and it worked like hell.
Of course a good doctor must be found and those are rare and a gem. The smart doctors need to treat the smart people.
I succeeded so well at school that any of the doctors that I had, thought my problem and defect wasn't thinking to much... I am not schizoid as they sad, I don't have much social anxiety... anxiety of course, but mainly f****** (!) depression.
A kid that has depression since kindergarden? No one notices, because she do what in her little small word is her passion, her escaping mechanism and what is only expected and allowed on her: do well at school!

To just finish, to anyone that identifies with me, antidepressants for obsessive people (namely fluvoxamine) has done wonders for me, and CBT, namely schema therapy is hitting in the right place.
If you have access to it go for it!
