I'm presently thinking with a more positive attitude, & I'm pretty sure I was influenced, in a really good way, by a poster in our forums here. I'm using that person as a role model today. I hope I can hold on to this attitude & start feeling stronger.

I've finished a book and I'm too depressed to get started on the next one. Every time I try, I get no more than 1,000 or 2,000 words in before deleting it. Maybe I'll give it a rest for a few months.

I feel periods of intense hopelessness, pain and depression interspersed with periods of normalcy. I guess that’s the way it goes. I’m trying.

I think, overall, I am very fortunate, in lots of ways. It's just so hard, due to various circumstances.

I am reading my book and it's the worst book anyone's ever written. I don't know how I can be a reader and a writer for so long and yet still be unable to produce something worth reading. My quest to get an agent and a publishing deal is doomed to fail.

But many readers don't share your expectations for a book, @3rd rock. Some people just like reading stories & don't judge the writing. I think you should go ahead & let publishers decide. They know the different types of readers & what they buy. Good luck!

I'm not doing well. I had a lot of anxiety today. I couldn't make it to an important meeting. And I can't give my cat her medicine. I'm a failure.

A busy day today and a nice one. Yesterday I was able to get a hold of a printer so that I can print out my W-2. There were some struggles in printing but I finally got it done. This morning I went to a (well known tax place) and got someone right away. It turned out that I'm getting much more in refunds than I ever dreamed of. So I'm very pleased. The ordeal of wondering if I will ever get my taxes done is over!

After the session, it was lunch time. After lunch I took a long bike ride and It was a nice day for it with not much traffic.

Rose, you are in a big club that I also belong to. You are normal in these very difficult times. Try to forgive yourself & just look forward to later on when things are better, ok?

I hope tonight brings a better sleep for you @Rose76 . I am going to try a pillow spray to see if that helps my sleep in terms of making it more refreshing sleep.

I think my sleep was a little bit better last night. A little bit more can make a difference. And I know too well how it is when you get very little sleep. It's almost impossible to get anything done. Maybe we need a fairy godmother to toss some sleepy dust over us when we put our pajamas on?

@Breaking Dawn and @Piney - just getting up at noon because I didn't sleep much till this morn. I definitely could use some fairy dust. Being more active would help. I should get out of the house. Let us know how the spray works.

Today was a pretty weird day. This morning at 6:45 I went to the laundry room at where I live and the washers were all taken. In the six months that I had picked that time to do the laundry, it has never happened. Well, the wait wasn't too long. But after I was finished, someone else was doing the laundry and then another guy was going to do his but he had to turn back because it was full. On Thursdays the laundry room had always been inactive. Not so today.

I took a long bike ride today. After 15 minutes there were police activity in an area I was going through. At a stop I just happened to be next to a news van and the driver told me that someone had barricaded himself in and threatened the police with a knife. I continued on my ride, but an hour later, I had returned to that spot where the police were and found out that more had happened. It turned out that the man who threatened the officer with a knife injured the officer and the officer shot him.

When I got home and up to now, nothing much has happened for me.

An OK day today as I was fairly busy. Lately I have been thinking about getting a part time job, so I ended up buying a new shirt in case if I get an interview. It's only because I need the money, but I'm not thrilled about going to work. I would like to work on Saturdays and Sundays because those two days are what I consider my "lock down" days. With those two days I don't do much; and I don't feel like doing errands because of the crowds. This is to supplement my Social Security, which would help.

On the other hand, I feel like my life now is aimless and not having direction. So I don't know. We'll see.
