this is the first time that my younger sister will be going to school/college and i won't be. she talks about it with my parents, studying and grades and stuff. i mean, wtf! i can't stand listening to it all the time. it just feels like a slap in the face. it only reiterrates the fact that i can't do the whole college thing anymore. my sister is three years younger than me and she's going to graduate college before i do. i just wanna curl up on my bed and not wake up. i hate dealing with all this crap. i feel like a seven year-old who can't do anything. can anyone help???

Hon this is a difficult one .... on one hand i can see where you are coming from, on the other your sister is excited about going to college .... i dont know too many of your details ... if you are sick it's not your fault, therefore you shouldn't feel so bad about not doing college .... if you are planning on going to college when you are better, what does it matter that your sister graduates first? It's not a race, are your parents and sister understanding about all this? Maybe you could explain that it upsets you and they could discuss it when you are not around? Or maybe you could encourage your sister, tell her how proud you are of her and that someday you will graduate too? Sorry if I'm out of order, just trying to read between the lines .... If you're struggling and too poorly to study right now please dont beat yourself up, it will only add to stress and feeling crappy, best wishes, jinnyann xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Boy do I know how you feel. I have one sister a year younger, and one 5 yrs younger....

The older one will graduate this next year. I've been in university for FIVE yrs for a 3 yr degree. She's graduating in 4 yrs with a 4 yr degree. Ouch. And I'll be here longer, because I want to do another BA afterwards. She'll probably wind up doing her Masters or something... a cry from the distance... Oh, and my littlest sister will actually BE in university when I'm still here.

And that really sucks, but you do things at your own pace... it sometimes feel like the end of the world, but it really isn't.

Take care of yourself, first and foremost.
