I've been stuck in the house for 2 weeks now. Finding PC made me a bit happier. I want to thank all of you for that.

It's 8:45 in the morning, and I'm going out to hike (alone) in the forest. There's a special place I go where I can be alone and think.
I'll take a few pictures so you can see how wonderful this place is.

Thanks again for giving me the strength to get out....(of course I'll need a Xanax!)

good luck to you and remember if it all gets too much ,the point is you made the attempt, overcame your fears and started to go out. even baby steps are ok. each time you de-senstize yourself it gets easier. i know cause that's what i do.
let us know about your trip when u return, k? we care about YOU!

Well....it took 2 Xanax and a lot of guts, but I finally got out of the house. I went to a trail called, "The Pine Flats", I call it, "My Thinking Trail" because I never see anyone there and I can be alone to think and get some exercise. There's a few loops to this trail. One is about 6 miles, the second is about 4 miles and the one I did today is about 2 miles.

My problem with depression comes during the winter mostly I noticed. I guess being retired and having nothing to do and with the cold and snow, I'm locked indoors, plus watching TV you get to see the news because they shove it in your face and the things going on in this world are so freaky. I've never seen it so bad! Then I start to get depressed. I wish this world could be at peace with each other. I know that's hopeless, but that REALLY bothers me. Why can't we all get along? I'm not worried about me, I'm worried about my kids and grand kids, and of course my wife. The world is getting worse and worse. I don't care who's president, they're all full of crap! They make empty promise's.

Oh well....what ever I guess. Here's the trail I went to today.

I'm Finally Going Out

I'm Finally Going Out

I'm Finally Going Out

I'm Finally Going Out

Thanks pegasus. I got up this morning and said, "I'M GOING OUT"!

Everyone here has made a big difference in how I feel and I'd like to thank every one of you for that. I felt so alone until I found PC.

I am so proud of you, PLEASESTOP. You have inspired me. I have decided that I will go out and try to do something for myself. Of course, I will make sure that I take Cymbalta and Buspar because I know I need those meds. We have some commonality. I also worry about my granddaughter because she is having a tough time with her mother, but thank GOD she perseveres and is an honor roll student.

Your pictures are so beautiful. Keep up the good work and keep us posted here on PC because we are care and love you.

so sorry things aren't going too well today, but I'm also proud of you for having gotten out! The pictures of your trail are beautiful, I'm so happy you have such a gorgeous place to go out and think.
Take it one day at a time. Keep in mind that no matter how awful you feel right now, it won't last forever. Proof of that is in the day you had on your trail, and the pictures you took. Maybe look through some of them and remind yourself that it's possible to feel better than you do right now.
Sending lots of good vibes your way.

I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOUUUUUU!!!!
and the pics were gorgeous!!! no wonder you picked this trail first!!!! i assume that was you in the pic. i live in fla. so it's hard to imagine snow on the ground right now.
you mentioned you feel more depressed in winter. i did too. my docs called it light deprivation. there are special llights you can purchase to assist this not happening to you. are u aware of that? not too pricy and it's worth it if you suffer in winter. getting out in the daylight helps too. but the special lights really help and you don't have to sit there all day for them to work.
i couldn't believe how much i agree with your comments about the news..etc!! my therapist suggested i just not watch it. he was right, just me, cause it kept me stirred up and depressed. i worry enough about what our world is coming to and concerned about my grandchildrens' future because of it.
now i watch discovery, history, animal planet channels or a good wholesome movie. i do watch c-net sometimes to see what washington is doing but that's about it. i don't want to ignore all that goes on. i just limit my intake. it might help you too so thought i'd pass that on to you.
so happy for you...you got out!!!next time will be easier...and so on..just try to do it regularly. it makes it much simpler. even if it's just for a short walk.
keep us posted, k?

I heard about this. Hopefully our bad weather will not last much longer.

I'm feeling better now...I don't know why.

Why does it come and go like that?

"I FEEL GOOD TODAY"! WHOO HOO!

I can't believe it, but I do. And I'm sure it's because of all of you here at PC. Everyone has been so nice to me and I know I'm not alone in my depression.

This morning I'm getting me butt out the door and doing some hiking. I'll post some pictures tonight.

Luv You All!
