I've gotten involved in the "therapist cycle" and saw a new psychiatrist yesterday. I really liked her. I've suspected for a long time that I might be bi-polar but my regular doctor always "pooh-poohed" it. She went straight to the chase and asked me several good questions and said she thinks that I'm bi-polar. She has started me on the lowest doses of depakote, lamictal and is keeping me on low doses of the elavil and prozac.......I haven't picked up the lamictal (sp) yet as I didn't go out of the house today except to feed the birds. I'm relieved that someone has taken the trouble to try and help me seriously. The other psych made me very uneasy. AND then I'm starting with a therapist soon. A psychologist. I can't live like I've been existing much longer.......I hope things get better now. pat

A new team is such a positive step Pattypoo. It's hopeful. That elusive "hope"...you know what a good sign that is, ehh? This is very good news.

progress report: i'm sleeping better.......slept 8 hours last night! i was floored when i looked at the clock. fayeroe had stuck her nose under the covers and was giving my forehead a huge licking, so i had to get up! a new diagnosis it really does scare me to be on so many meds, but i'll try anything to feel better. the episode at work almost did me in. (i'm sure you could tell that) i know that it will take some time for the meds to be effective.....i have all the time in the world. a new diagnosis
thanks to every one of you....such good friends......xoxoxo pat

well we like you cocktailed on meds anyways! a new diagnosis

I'm pleased to hear sleep is good. The dog alarm clock at this house has been not very effective. Some mornings she gives up and snuggles in until I *do* wake up. Poor girlie. Glad that Fay is keeping you on schedule. a new diagnosis

You do have time and you do have support. You're loved much Pat. Keep us updated as you are able.

Jen, thanks......i was just discussing the diagnosis with my daughter and i told her how i told the psychiatrist that "I've lost my joy".....that is the only want to describe it for me. i've gone back and read some of the posts i made last fall and i've definitely seen a change.....so, i'm thankful that i've embarked upon this med journey.....pat
