Hi sj,
When I was in the bad place I always wondered which was the best strategy, do I fight? do I let go? In the end I thought, just be. Little steps, one at a time. I've been doing that for a few years now, sometimes a little better, sometimes a little worse. I believe that we can get through it. I hope it eases for you. Myzen. |

I have often asked the very question. It is nice to know that I am not the only one that gets frustrated with the BS.
My one counselor told me once, that one day at a time seems awfully long some times...try one hour at a time, if that doesn't work, try a quarter hour at a time, and so on. Trust me, I have gotten myself down to a half second at a time with this statagy. Hope things are better today for you brenda

i agree with bren. One day at a time is too hard when I'm depressed. There's not much else I can say that the others didn't already say. Just know that we're all here for you and many of us know these feelings you are experiencing and we understand them. You take care. ryan |

That's hard to do when depressed because most depressed people isolate from others. Sometimes, I do fun things and not worry about things. That's hard to do whenever depressed because of lack of energy and motivation. Ozzie is right about taking SMALL STEPS. But also, you need to recognize what your positive things are that you have accomplished. Don't discount the small steps you do take. Every one of them makes a difference. Pets also help. If you have any pets, make sure you play with them more when you are depressed. For me, this is always my first small step in feeling better. I struggle with grabbing and throwing toys as I play with my two kitty cats. Moving helps get me more active. |
