I went to the T today and what do you know, she enlightens me with the knowledge that some of her other clients describe SRA. So the stuff that comes out when I am asleep may not be the stuff of fantasy (a sick twisted one albeit).
Why does this shock me? I never believed in SRA, it sounds so way way out there. It's like o my goddess, another thing to help these kids deal with. I know I don't have to do it alone, but sometimes I feel so alone. It's a bit sad knowing others are so close and I can't feel them or anything. If this makes sense to anyone please respond I hate feeling all alone.

Thanks,

fairygirl,

Don't really know what to say.....but just wanted to let you know you are not alone here.

Take care.

Fi,

This is some shocking stuff to be dealing with. I think it sounds out there because we don't want to look at the reality that abuse of this nature occurs.

When you say the stuff that comes out when you are asleep.....what do you mean? Is it what you are writing down in journals currently? Or am I totally confused? big shock - may be trigger? just my rant

Your post makes as much sense as any here.

Is your therapist trained in this kind of survivor work? It usually takes someone with a deep background in this to help those who have been through this type of abuse.

It is hard to know we are not alone in abuse and sad at the same time to realize others have experienced something similar to what we did. Strength in healing in numbers. We may not know your exact pain but we do know you survived.

I have a few diss. friends I talk to who have went thru something like SRA. One wasn't in a cult per se but it was all the males in her family.
Just so cruel & senseless. Why don't people think?
Love,

I am now starting to think that my sa was actually sra with the memories I have been having. Overwhelming is such an understatement....sigh...I'm sorry for all that experienced this. It's absolutely crazy making.

Thank you for posting that link to the sra website.
