As some of you know what I am about to type is a challenge for me but I want to say that I feel great today...!
It is the week of my BD and almost everyone is on board for celebrating this life we have been given....(I don't say the exact date b/c of anonymity reasons). It is a 'birth' that was threatened, and subsequent life that was neglected and abused but survival and winning came and with all of our recent healing (as you know recent for us can be years but even that is okay when we celebrate victory! There is hope, new horizons, peace (mostly), and even love. It is time this week to acknowledge this publicly and privately. It is true that what darkeness meant for bad, thank God meant for good! Thanks and I will brave the consequence of this rejoicing! Maybe there will be none or maybe there will be. |

Good on you for sharing this.
 I so understand the anonymity-- it took me being here, first 3 years(05-08) and now 2 more years before I let others know when the time to "celebrate" was. (trauma and abuse can sure affect one's life for a loooong time)  I wish you the Happiest Birthday ever! and I wish, with all the wishes in the world, that only rejoicing comes to you. best to you fins

I am with purple_fins, thank you for sharing this. I know it was so hard to do but you did it and that is one more step in the step to victory. I so get how hard it is and the anonymity thing as I post our BD like the day before and then take it back off even after being here this long. You did survive my friend and even though what you lived through was not your fault and nothing you deserved, you still are taking back what should have never been taken a little at a time. Even if it takes what sometimes is years it is a victory, one you deserve and have every right to now. For so long we could not know, we could not invision, nor could we even acknowledge. But now we can and now we can hold onto each day knowing we are walking towards healing however long it takes to get there. Each steps no matter how small it may seem is important. You are important. We all are important. Keep holding on to what you know and know that we are here for you with each step of the way however small it may seem. You are not alone anymore. Yes, there is hope, new horizons, peace, and even love. Love not only surrounding you but within you. As we learn to care and love ourselves that love only grows, what we never knew growing up is there and blooming with each step we take. I wish you a very Happy Birthday and a blessed day each day surrounding this week and on. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Love you. Sending you gentle hugs and loving thoughts. Tears, tender tears came into the eyes.
You are all really caring and encouraging. Maybe the best gift I could receive is your kindness! The joy of knowing you is better than perfume, jewelry, trips, wrapping paper and ribbon. Can you understand this? Belonging, being cared about and knowing I am not alone in my experience of getting better is 'the gift'. Yes, this may be the Best Birthday ever, mostly because everyone can be on-board for it internally. The mean family members tried to take me down, one more time, with thoughts that we were not wanted, however it didn't work! It became more clear that the reason we survived is because there is hope and there is a reason for me to be on this planet. I love this Calista !!!Here is a winning trophy for each one of you and a few to spare for others: |
