One of my parts is a self-destructive drug user. Does anyone have any expierence along these lines - such as finding another hobby or something else to do for that part to do instead of drugs. Any feedback welcome.

don't have a problem with drugs but have had other self destructive problems and the solution for me is locating the triggers that make me dissociate by taking care of he trigger the self distructiveness doesn't happen.

How do you ( i ) "locate" the triggers.

Every time you notice you are feeling upset through out the day write down in a notebook the date time where you are when you felt the least bit uncomfortable and what you are aware of when you become aware and what the last thing you remember right before you dissociated.
By writing things down this way you will be able to locate your patterns and the triggers. Patterns are any situation that repeats for example everytiime you ride a but you get motion sick or panicy is a pattern because it happened more than once. Triggers are things that make you uncomfortable. to locate the ones that are causing you to dissociate look in your notebook under the question of last thing remembered before dissociating. the trigger will be something in that section. Hang in there. |

Hi everybodyishere. Nice to meet you. I'm sorry you are struggling right now. I do have problems with self destructive behaviors but thankfully not drugs or alcohol. Even when dissociated, the brain seems to need to be in control all the time (um, although it sure feels like no control mostly lol). I hope things calm down for you and you are able to figure out what is triggering this to happen. Good luck to you in your journey.
