I've been this way forever. It's actually got interesting and fun at times.

Life is never boring.

It's just the memory part that screws with us.

Regardless how nutty I sound, it's just an expression. Truth be known, we all get a kick out of it because it's so antisocial in my special way.

That's the kicker, eh? We've ALL 'been this way forever'. Heh. We just didn't always know it.... that's why DID works as a coping mech. Dunno why but that kinda dawned on me sometime lately, too.... I think because my mom asked something that indicated I only 'became DID' when I got the dx. When really, that's what's been functioning all along. Since I was 3. (Develops" around 3-5, sometimes as late as 7 years old"). At 10 I knew SOMETHING. I understood something was up. I didn't have a name for it, but I did recognize that I was on the verge of "crazy" - that was my word, as close as I could get. And that I needed to stay on 'this side of crazy".

Thanks for reviving it! . Lol

Ya. I knew 32 years ago, too.

And yes..."crazy" is the key word that we went by...it explains everything!

All the mean kids called me things like "freak", "weirdo", "retard"... that's how I began referring to myself. I never used the word crazy to describe it until recently. I started having hallucinations really young. Then I just thought maybe everybody had them and didn't talk about them... I sure didn't talk about them. Babies' brains learn to dissociate too, it just depends on the situations and how the child learns to defend itself.

When I was younger (8) I saw specific hallucinations (people, Pirates and ships) , but things have changed to where today I just see non-specific hallucinations (colors and geometric shapes and designs) due to bipolar- or Lysergic acid diethylamide. Also I see reality wrinkle and wiggle. I too thought it was just an awake dream! Lol
