It is a tiring experience, carrying others emotions along with your and then trying to sort them all out. Taking a break from them? I actually have another that steps forward and shields me from all the stuff when it all becomes too over whelming, but it's a protective shield that I can't ask for, it just happens when the other feels I may be "a danger".

Consciously taking a break? I guess the only advice I would have woulk be grounding and distraction. If it's possible to lull the others into a sense of security and safety, it may be possible to quiet down their thoughts. For me, there becomes too much chatter when something has been stirred up inside.

I know it's hard to do and requires focus at a time when it feels impossible to focus but sometimes I can get it to work.

I'm sorry things are all stirred up for your right now. Those emotions can be so exhausting and I wish you some comfort soon.

Hugs, Anne

i have to agree with songbird---doing something a bit fun or meditating or taking a nap or sometimes i have to say "shhhh" out loud and literally ground--take my shoes off and walk in the grass or the dirt. we have a big sand box that i sit in and just feel the cool sand and meditate on quiet things.

I hear you and I understand. I know how wanting to get away from emotions is. Be kind to yourself and know that we are all here and pulling for you.

Thank you everyone.

unfortunately I am not feeling that much better. I feel fuzzy and partially disconnected and sort of blah. But its better than I did feel, so I guess that is a step. Ever feel tired from the emotional drainage of others?

sometimes I can drown them out with music, but the one thing that soothes "us" all is water: the sound, the feel, and the movement of water.... esp. the ocean, but not easy to get to on a whim since the ocean nowhere borders Vermont, LOL...

Other ppl's emotions, sometimes I simply tell them I am sorry but I just dont have any to give right now and I am not in a position to listen and carry it with them on a heathly spectrum...

Hope you are feeling refreshed soon... Take Care Ever feel tired from the emotional drainage of others?
