I have to admit before I was disappointed and even angry at myself now I realize I have a problem and I need help and compassion for it. The atwork network set me up for volunteer work I was meant to go today but when I woke up I was in a daze and couldn't tell I was in reality even whilst I was showering and etc. To some that may sound an excuse but when you can't tell if the comic book your looking at is a part of a dream or even if your sleep walking well you can say you have some issues. Whilst this has been going on for a while at varied numbered hours in the day this is the first time this has happened whilst waking up. I would say I was in sleep paralysis but my body didn't feel numb just my mind and will I cannot tell if this is one hundred percent me just being somehow awake after a deep delta state I can say this is not normal. I will be definitely calling Atwork and explain why I didn't go to the volunteer work I am hoping they will understand and finally get me an actual work place psychologist not this ring-around-a-rosy ****!

Im not sure if this is the same in your location or not. here in america treatment providers designate \differentiate between not being able to tell what is real vs what only feels unreal. here in my location when someone does not know or can not tell what is real thats called psychosis where as when someone just .....feels.....that their surroundings or their self is unreal thats a dissociative symptom. what that means is that here for something to be called a dissociative problem "reality remains intact" my point we cant diagnose you but we can tell you what our location goes by. maybe knowing what america goes by will help especially if your location also uses the same standards. you can read more about what america goes by in the links at the bottom of my post. good luck with your treatment providers. |

I don't know about Australia, our counselling system is so **** your on the public system for years they give you some ******** diagnosis teach you a bit of mindfulness and then think your mental illness is fixed I was diagnosed with ptsd and adhd my psychiatrist don't know that I am barely aware what reality is I have to get him to authorise my adhd pills so I can take them on the plane to portugal. Meanwhile he thinks I am just there for the drugs the system is screwed the only support I feel is on here only on here people treat me seriously. I think its because your only reading what I am saying you can't see me and see I have a baby like face and I look 3 years younger then I actually am sigh* Assumpations is a disease...

Seriously, I feel like I had to sift through a lot of psychologists to find one that doesn't assume what my issue is and is finally doing the proper counselling schema therapy. She toke at least 3 years to find and then she goes and I get a new psychologist. I just hope they are as decent as she is.

Hey hi, if this helps, when I DP/DR, I remain real, but everything else feels unreal and disconnected.
For instance, I can be sitting on my bed in my bedroom in which I've lived for years, then in a moment, I feel like I'm in someone elses (unknown) room. I know the stuff is mine, but it feels like it isn't as if I have no connection to any of it. Sometimes I describe it as crossing dimensions. I think I have it mildly because I can ground my way back by focusing on an object and work my way out of it. How you describe it kinds of reminds me of my stupor days or a side symptom of meds. It also sounds like it also can be a physical ailment. Have you seen a body doctor lately? I wish you the best and speedy recovery. ![]() |

Yes, I have seen a doctor I had lumps on my breasts and my nose has been bugging me for years basically I could never blow my nose properly as a child and I had a CT scan done on my sinuses and it showed that I had a bony spur in my nose. They gave me nasal spray but I feel like it has made my problem worse like my nose becomes more inflamed and I have liquid come out randomly. I have been told it could also be brown mold stuck in my nose that is showing up as a bony spur in scans. I am thinking of going to the doctors to speak about this.
