We haven't been around much lately, but we have a question for everyone with DD.

We still seem to be going into dissociative fugue which is NOT caused by an alter coming in.

Is anyone else experiencing this ?

Does anyone understand why this might happen ? or do you think there are just more alters who aren't sharing memories & we mistake that for fugue ?

We do behave differently in fugue, we think, to when an alter is in. HELP !!! confusion We drive away & get lost, we find ourselves on the phone HELP !!! confusion

It's all too hard to explain HELP !!! confusion

{{{{{nothemama8}}}}} yes, yes, stress, that's when it happens

then we find ourselves lost HELP !!! confusion

it's different to when an alter comes in though, there is a blankness, a loss of memory that is more absolute......

Something must be triggering you so rather then diss into an alter you're blocking the trigger/memory/emotion so much that there is no more room for remembering directions or phone numbers etc. because you are working so hard to block. The anxiety that goes along with this just adds to the mix. I think you need to figure out what is triggering you. HELP !!! confusion

Hi,
Not a lot of experience with fugue, but I know that my parts are all experiencing dissociative amnesia on an individual basis-- i.e., I myself will do something but not remember it later when I'm back out. It's mostly ok, I guess, but I'm working on it. Sorry I don't have more experience.

Darling'Tunia,we think you are right, something must be triggering us HELP !!! confusion

We thought we had identified most of the triggers HELP !!! confusion HELP !!! confusion

We are extremely sensitive to all types of sensory cues, even a smell can trigger us, & so do thoughts, of course.

Considering the frightful memories that we have retrieved, we are terrified to think of anything we would block to that extent. HELP !!! confusion

We will have to journal to try to catch the trigger HELP !!! confusion
We hate journalling & anyway we don't have time HELP !!! confusion

((((((((((((((( Zorah )))))))))))))))))

I have dissociated to high degrees before with no evidence of another part of me stepping in. We're "good and well-versed" in that as well, I think.

Whatever the specifics are though, I agree with Petunia. Whether or not another part is stepping in, there's massive trigger, upset, overwhelm or something going on right now to cause this.

When I remember doing this, I was usually "running" fast and hard from feelings (no memories really). I was just running, running...emotionally and physically from adverse feelings that I "knew" would envelop me if I stopped.

Could it be that? If so, whew, this is tough... Historically I ran until it eased because I had no knowledge of what was going on, but once I did realize, I had to stop and sit...then usually some memory came along too. HELP !!! confusion I can't tell you what you should do if this is even the case because only you can suspect what you might be able to handle right now.

If you feel you need to continue to "run and do", just please keep yourself in safe situations until it relaxes some?

We're here and care.

KD

Iv'e been thinking about this.

Confusion happens a lot with me.

I don't know if this will help but with me it seems to be when a part is missing. I have to sit down in a quiet safe place and try and calm things down.

I try to practice mindfulness and see if I can reel in all the parts of me. It takes a lot of practice, but it's kind of like sitting in the centre of a storm and gradually allowing the parts to come back to me. The storm calms down and then I'm not so confused.

Hope this might help. HELP !!! confusion

I am not DD, but I dissociate and sometimes find myself in a place where I seem to look at myself from a huge gulf. It seems that I can't really focus my eyes and everything seems wavy and distant. That means something or someone has triggered me so badly I can't handle it.

I just wanted to let you know I understand a little bit and that I care.

Hugs,

Jan

(((((kd))))) we think what you describe is what is happening to us HELP !!! confusion

(((((Petunia))))) we think we have identified the trigger.

We think it is that we must move from this property HELP !!! confusion
We have lived here since 1971. The thought of moving terrifies us, but we must move. HELP !!! confusion
Every time we try to start packing things, or think about the scary lawyers we lose the plot HELP !!! confusion HELP !!! confusion

We are safe, kd, we think so, but will we be safe when we move to a new place ?? The littles might get lost. We are scared.

And then, to move, we must sort through everything here & that keeps bringing up old triggers & it makes it very slow.

We really have to move & sell this property before we are forced into total poverty. We can't maintain this place on a pension.

oh WOWOW ((((((((((((( zorah ))))))))))))))))) i can only imagine the many layers of MUCH going on right now. HELP !!! confusion i'm so sorry hon.

yes, i'd say that's a trigger and so much more to the whole of you.

this will have to be well-orchestrated if possible for the children. can the adults make it an adventure and assure of safety while proving it with things such as a map of the area, directions to get to new home, phone numbers of trusted ones, descriptions of safe neighbors talked to, where things are put in the new place, etc? the more detail the better...many lists.

is that possible to do hon? i know you have so much on your plate. HELP !!! confusion can we help you to come up with lists for the adults there to fill out and keep handy for the children and others?

this won't make it all better but hopefully ease some of the confusion?

we'll help all we can.

love and (((((((( big hugs ))))))))))
