I know its hard being left hanging with some shows, I have some favorites too that did that. short version is here in america when a tv series gets cancelled the producers of the show have a year after the cancellation to come up with other fundings/ sponsors/ and a new network channel willing to help them stay on the air one more year to see if they can bring the ratings up to where the show can get clearance for another 13-22 episodes and ... because of how this works tv producers purposely leave a door open in the show (a cliffhanger) as a restarting point should they manage the other funding/ sponsors / and network changes. Some shows manage to do whats needed, and continue the story lines where the cliff hanger left off (example netflix took over the rights and all for full house and continues the show with a new series called fuller house using the cliff hanger in full house as a starting point) US of Tara was unable to find a new cable channel willing to buy the shows rights and sign on the show to continue making new episodes so its now been passed on to streaming networks as is) maybe someday for those that enjoy the show there will be a what happened afterwards series will happen.

this is an interesting post. I have, always wondered who decides if a show should stay on the air or not certainly makes it a bit clearer and I imagine, that sometimes, the writers of the show choose to end it too. I know a comedy show made over here reached series 4... I think it was. the writer said he was no longer interested in writing the episodes, but the network convinced him otherwise, and we now have a series 11! |
