Thanks so much for a fascinating thread. It put some things to rights for me. Inspite of my education this area has always been a bit of "here be monsters2 area on the mental map. My main concern has been Bipolar syndrom för almost all of nmy life, but I have also been been beset by odd visual effects when in stress, such as feeling as if I am at the bottom of a well and that the kids beating up on be were far away at the top, or that I was far away behind a mask watching my hands and body act on their own through the eyeholes, as once during a climbing accident.

I also have gone through periods where I have been very conscious of having very strong "aspects" or "facets" to my personality that are very strongly defined. My therapist in "self therapy" picked this up and had me do a cast of Characters. Most of them were male. I hve little missed time, and that only in jr. high school. Most of the time I am very aware when I pull for chracteristics from one facet for help, when I am very pressd or manicy, I feel a "Click" and the facet seems to move in intact with the whole array of chrateristics or that "facet" or person. According to the articls that i read form the thread here, I finally can place myself as a Atypical dissociative dissorder. My therapist and a firend who has DID were always a little puzzled, themselves. Thanks guys. I too, have felt it has been a gift. There have been times that, particularly without one of these chracters, I would have been in big trouble. Never got a Dx, on this one, but don't think at this point, I need one. It's just good to know. HUGGGS to everyone.
Thanks for this!
