*Big Smile* - I know exactly what you are talking about...... for my closet used to have the vast variety of clothing in it - something for every ten year age difference alter..... Boy was I ever so glad that my watcher, an eighty-four years old lady, was happy with what she already had on.

Not to mention the obsession I (we) use to have with Tommy from the RugRats...... my own kids were younger back then and they loved buying mommy "Tommy" for Christmas or my Birthday - Tommy & Chuckie hung from the mirror in my car for a good year or two. littles and shopping ..

that is so cute Rhapsody littles and shopping .. - rugrats are cute
well hmmm i now have 8 dozen rubber duckies on the way dressed in different ways ...
I started out good though .. was looking at regular items ..guess the child got bored inside - we went to a huge gift shop ...and let her get what she wanted littles and shopping ..
My DIL soon to be .. might be a trigger for her who knows?
I relate to the strange clothing in the closet .. sometimes i ask who bought that?? lol..
oh well i cant control any of the insiders - they do what they want.

Variety can be good ;D

And rubber duckies are really cute. Anyone can have them. Even my ex-girlfriend's 40-year old mother had them in her shower. littles and shopping ..

I can really relate to that. Someone went shopping yesterday and bought fruit and kahlua - shame about the rest of the grocery list ..... and kahlua wasnt on the list. But we also got a really cute air freshner thingy for the car - one of the littles im guessing. I think it is pretty normal behaviour for DID

thanks for your replies ~
as it turns out - my soon to be DIL thinks they are so cute - so whew ..lol ..was kinda sweating that out.
It is hard for me to shop and make decisions because of the other ones inside of me like to shop too .. sometimes i catch it - look in my basket and just stop .. leave it and go home .. gets over whelming at times.
i dont know why i cannot control them - they come out when they want - do what they want . How do you know when they are out? This is the hardest part for me is the not knowing .. i really dont even know them .. totally apart from me.

today is a perfect example - i went to the store for pet hair removers (lint rollers) and possibly a hair product. That's it.
I came home with 2 new DVDs on sale (white oleander and You've got mail), 2 my little pony toys, and 2 harry potter book marks. Can any one tell i have 2 kid parts? -one with a darker personality - she got the White oleander - totally triggers her, but she's drawn and can't help it - normalizes her life for her some. I think she's the one who painted my nails yesterday in black and blood red polish.
*sigh*. At least some TP ended up in there as well.

Yea you sound like you relate well to this topic too littles and shopping ..
White Oleander and Youv'eGot Mail .. are favorites of mine too ~ I do have lighter and darker sides as well - teenager selves of me. Once i actually had a pastor many years ago tell me he could see me black one one side of my face and white on the other .. that was years before i knew i was DID
but always remembered that and always wondered what it meant. Now i understand. I am not integrated everyone is on their own and do their own thing ..although i can often recognize from the age group and actions who does what inside of me. I try to guard them but ..they can be very strong. I guess they had to be very strong ...

yeah - they did have to be very strong. Like when shopping, i tried to get them to not spend.. told them no, set boundaries, made them make choices "this or that -not both". But they had control over the legs and feet. I could not will my body out the door. They are very strong. They want what they want.
My old T always asked me "who paid for all these things?!" as if i just give in and let them, or if they are "steeling" from me. i mean, how odd a question is that. The system as a whole functions in parts - the system as a whole goes to work and earns money. The money belongs to the system and the system buys what it wants. I never really get that question. People don't understand when there are parts but the terminology is "I".... "i did this, I did that". "We" gets to them too much. but they don't understand "I"... then they want clairfication. I'm rambling - all the parts are trying to get their say in.
