I have a question:

Sometimes I can watch my other selves in action - sort of like standing back and watching them, but not being able to control them. And then sometimes I can remember later what it was that happened, but it is kind of like remembering a dream

Other times, I'm just GONE, and I don't remember what happens, or I MIGHT recall a tiny snippet or something.

Also, something T said today made me think that he wants me to start noticing what happens when I start to dissociate. Honestly, I don't want to. I don't want to give it up yet

Is this how it is for other people??

For me I always can see my other parts in action, I watch helpless as they run around doing their thing. I know alot of people rang between the extremes you mention...

maybe you don't have to give it all up yet - but it never hurts to understand a little more about what's going on, and have more control over it.

I agree with turquoisesea. It was only by becoming an observer that I gained the understanding I have today. Can still be a little confused at times but everything is a whole lot better than it was.

Keep a journal but make them all agree to keep it. I had a few torn up in rage. Discuss and agree to keep one and allow everyone to have their say and respect their views and opinions. Only by agreeing to work together will you have any chance at a decent life.
Thanks for this!

Earthmama,

I know you don't really want to hear this but it sounds to me that you are actively healing. I know for "us", we keep a journal for everyone to use and there are rules with that but it sounds like you are developing your co-consciousness. Yeah, scary at first but a REALLY GOOD Thing EarthMama. ThaCrew

I mostly dont see what is going on when it happens. sometimes i will remember something but it is like watching a movie or a dream as you called it. Most of the time I am just gone. Like Ive been sleeping or lost in a daydream. The world keeps moving on around me and yet some how I have moved along with it. weird uh.

I/we have more questions than answers. I do not know how to describe it to you. When I am with my T, I am often co-conscious with whomever is speaking, then after it becomes dreamlike.

But, I can't say it is like sitting back watching. It is kinda like they influence Leslie. Shade her tone of voice or way she moves, sometimes pulling her strings without her knowing it until someone else reacts to her.

It can get really jacked up. But, its all we have. We do not do the journal except on the computer. If they can type and get the consciousness then they can write.

Frankly, I think we are all fascinating. We each do our DID uniquely. Notice I didn't say easily, quietly, painlessly, quickly...

It seems that having some connection, something very important to care about, helps with being quite conscious of each other. For us it was the children. In the beginning of realisation there were some really bad fights and accusations that the children were not being looked after properly. The born body threatened to kill herself if her children were ever hurt by any of us. At the time she didn‘t realise how many she was ‘speaking‘ to, she just knew something was going on and that it might effect her children. I think we all came to some understanding about this, and in the process became more aware of each other. The born body was still in denial, she thought she was going crazy but she was very determined to protect her children from whatever ‘It’ was.

They don't seem to like us talking about them.
