Hi all,

Anyone else here with this problem? I put it here, and even though this may not be a eating disorder, its on the same line.
I've got High triglycerides, cholesteral. I'm not fat, in top shape for my age, correct weight, etc. But dang, The family physician gets upset with me cuz my trigs. are tooooo high, lol
I've tried cholesteral meds, but the side effects were intolerable. Total muscle fatigue. You can't function with constant muscle fatigue! So, I refused to take the meds.
I was able to control my trigs by only using diet. Dang, it works to do it that way, but slowlllly I slip back into the routine of eating the good stuff. DQ ice cream-candy bars-perhaps too much red meat, cookies. deserts. If I eat the canned fish, chicken without skin, fresh fruit and veggies, and whole grains I'm fine with the cholesterol, but then the bad habits start creeping back. duh. lol
It takes 3 weeks to detox ones self of bad eating, and that is being strict. If I can get by the 3 weeks, I'll feel great, and the trigs will come down.
I guess my point on this whole article is: I notice people that have weight problems, and you may look at someone who looks like they are in tip-top shape, but that don't mean they don't have anything going on throughout their Blood stream. I am NOT a fast-food person either, and my diet is basically healthy. This just goes to prove that you are what you eat. For lunch today, I had a bowl of brown rice, some butter beans, and a stalk of broccli. well, one day down, and 2 weeks and 6 days to go. Detox time everyone. And oh yeah, Water, lots and lots of water!

Cheers all,

SongBird

Hey Dan~
My husband is the same way. He is skinny minnie. But his cholesterol is rising. But he thinks he is fine. I cook healthy things. Like Brats and sausages... I used Jennie O turkey products for that. They are really good!! I use leaner cuts of meat and obviously with the garden I love veggies so theres lots of them incorporated too. And usually some kind of grain and fruit. My dad doenst like the healthy cooking I am doing. But you know what .. if he had paid attention to what he was putting in his mouth . He wouldnt have had 2 heart attacks and 3 major strokes now and several TIA's. He's been REALLY lucky being able to rehab from all this.

Ohhhh by the way Do you eat your Cheerio's? eating dis, maybe I do! LOL I wuv my CHEERIOS eating dis, maybe

Hope the transition goes well for you . Hang in there. If you get to really craving ice cream try Skinny Cows Ice cream sandwiches. They are low in the fat and cholesterol too I think.

Hugz~

Good luck on the healthy eating. I feel better all around when I'm eating healthier too, but it's so much easier to grab the junky stuff. eating dis, maybe One thing I have been doing faithfully the last couple of months is drinking 3 bottles of water every day. I stick them in the freezer for a couple of hours so it's icy cold.

You say you hate yourself, you are hating the wrong thing! Hate the situation, not yourself.
You can control the stiuation, but not as long as you have the attitude that you hate yourself. Try reverse thinking, and love yourself, and then maybe you will have better success with your goals.
Set your goals within reason, short, and long term goals, and when you reach one of them, pat yourself on the back, brag about what you have acomplished, and your attitude will also change about your self-esteem!
Respectfully,
