I have binged/purged for months in a row. I'm noticing numbs and lesions in my mouth that has no doubtedly come from the acid in my stomach. I'm getting really concerned about so I'm trying to stop. It's 11:37 at night and I haven't done it yet today. But as of now, it's all I want to do. Fighting the urge is killing me. Thought I'd post it here to just talk about it.

I have binged/purged continuously over the past 2 months, and on-off over the past 15 years whenever I get depressed (which is a lot), so I hear you. I know it's tough to get the thoughts out of your mind; these days when I get the thought of b/p, I try to mentally create a pros & cons list - and just focus on the harm that it is doing to the body, and how the instant gratification only leads to more guilt and shame later. Hope you are well today.

I do this too every day & use laxatives. I know it's wrong and I have tried really hard to stop but I can't. I don't look underweight so no one would believe me anyway. They will all think I am doing it for attention. I told my T last year but she hasn't brought it up since. So that makes me think she doesn't believe me either. The list is a good idea. I have constant headaches and I am really embarrassed to tell anyone, especially since my T obviously doesn't think it is worth talking about.

To be honest I'm do not think your T thinks that your ED is not worth being talked about. Perhaps it's because there are more pressing issues to resolve? Also, the binge purging imo is usually the result of other disorders/conditions. For me, I only binge/purge when I'm depressed; my T believes that bingeing n purging is my coping mechanism for depression, and I agree.

Perhaps u need to consider the cause behind u bingeing n using laxatives? Wishing u strength!

I've actually been losing weight doing this (and I'm a healthy weight to begin with) so my T is getting worried about me. But I didn't binge/purge yesterday so here goes day 2! The pro and con list is a good idea. I'll try it today. thanks!!

For Aloneandafraid, I agree with tranquility84. I'm sure your T cares about you. I barely talk about food in therapy and my T is worried about my purging. If you really want to talk about it, tell your T. She/he may not know you want to talk about it.
