This is another resolution to get healthy with 1 BIG difference it comes from my own sincere desire and not everyone else telling me I need to get healthy. 2 snacks will be gluten free vegan protein powder shake with almond milk. That is just the beginning of the change to healthy but it going to be gluten free vegan diet as of all the diets I've tried this one had me feeling the best. Then after a month of the 2 shakes I'll figure out my vegan gluten free breakfast options for 2 months. Then vegan gluten free lunches for 2 months. Then vegan gluten free dinners for 2 months that will only be to get a good base of easy recipes then add from there. This way I don't shock my system and it's more of a lifestyle change than the typical diets are considered. Let's hope this works.

I just found quaker oats steel cut microwave oatmeal in amazon prime pantry. I havent tried it yet - it came when i was already eating breakfast. But i do need to microwave my oatmeal or else i fall behind in dishwashing. I hope these are yummy steel cut!

I have mine with plain greek yogurt (not vegan) but also hemp seed (Soooo good!), nuts, dried fruit, coconut oil, and some weird sulphur salt. I like having something i call "my" breakfast. This is a fairly recent development.

I have a couple of lunches and dinners too. I look forward to seeing what you work up. .

I used to buy vegan meal plans. Those if they arent already gluten free are fairly easy to switch to gluten free...I believe she tells you how. I'm doing this fairly slowly because I want it to stick. I'm hoping it will be nearly sugar free too(fruit allowed)! The more I talk about it the more excited I get too. Oatmeal is usually my go to for breakfast but I might try to find protein breakfast bars to make too if thats at all possible...quick and easy...grab and go kinda thing. We'll see!

Just reporting back - this oatmeal like the amazon reviews say is not exactly the real deal but the next best thing. Yum. It says to make one third cup dry but a hefty one quarter might work, and more water than they say.

Well, my second day went well. While the shakes are the only "official" thing I'm doing...I am trying overall to eat healthier when I do pick something. Problem is I am 500-650 calories short of the recommended calories on the app I'm using...but I'll get there. I just dont want to stress my body too much losing weight. We'll see.

Third day(yesterday) was a little rough as I start getting that main things in place little things need to be adjusted(ie:like yesterday sodium intake was too high). But overall I'm making healthier choices though.
I still feel like crap coming off all that sugar and caffeine. Headaches galore! The lethargy is really bad too. I'm sleep pretty good at night and take a 3-4 hour nap during the day. See NP wednesday, without all that sugar and caffeine, we may need to adjust my meds down a bit but we'll see wednesday when I see her. I gotta write out what I wanna talk to her about.

Well its midnight here so technically yesterday was my fifth day and all days I did really well and yet I'm depressed. Why? This is crazy. I'm excited. Yet, I'm depressed at the same time. I dont get it.

I truly applaud your courage & perseverance I agree Mrsjoggers that making change slowly is the best more sustainable way. I was addicted before to potato chips & coca cola, then I took a resolution on my birthday to stop them. And I don't buy them anymore, except occasionally (you can pamper yourself occasionally, no problem). I substitute potato chips with seeds, & coca cola with juice (though sadly, I still drink commercial bottled juice - which contains unnatural preservatives -, but I can't find time to make home juice.

By the way, I also recommend you try to eat Arabian dates on breakfast. It's an extremely healthy energy-filled food, that Arab culture gives much health credit too. Do you know that God has told Mariam (the mother of Jesus), after she gave birth to Jesus & was extremely exhausted to shake the nearby palm & eat its dates to get back her health & energy?

And you can substitute sugar with honey.

But also, I noticed you say that you stopped taking Caffeine, why is coffee bad for health? Probably stopping Caffeine is affecting your mood & making you depressed, so you probably should ask the doctor about how to adapt to caffeine reduction/withdrawal...
