im not entirely sure if i should yet, i dont exactly have the money for it right now
but im starting to think im getting worse sooner than im getting better right now ive started seeing things more often than not, not even out of the corner of my eyes anymore its full on staring at things that i know arent there its been a thing my whole life, but it wasnt very frequent today alone ive seen more than id like to admit things trying to crawl out of closed spaces with long spindly fingers to shadow figures staring at me as i work, and trying to avoid eyecontact with as i do on the one hand i dont feel like its serious because i can convince myself after a while that even though i still see it, it isnt real on the other hand i know its not normal to see these things and i should probably really consider seeking help i felt like i needed a second opinion |

I seemed to have missed a word that could be key here... this is just today that it is worse?... if so have you been getting not enough sleep and or not eating enough...cuz alot of times when my life long shadows start feeling suddenly closing in..for me if it is normal than bam scary /suspicious/ just off the next day.. most of the time, they return to normal after i get decent sleep and eat, hydrate well (thats jus me tho).. but if it is bothering you it is always wise to get a professional opinion.

Hi Crowby..........lost in the wood has very good advice...lack of sleep, dehydration can definitely contribute to a more intense episode. It is also a very good sign that your awareness and rationality about episode is well grounded.
I live in the southeast USA and trying to get an appointment for a first time diagnoses and or a treatment plan can take weeks, even months. If you have health insurance, call their customer service and ask who handles their mental wellness plan. I have Humana, and Psychcare is my mental wellness provider. They will be able to give you info on co-pays for visits and doctors in your area. I wish you good fortune and better days ahead. |

Some states are way behind as far as immediate care. Texas and Florida rank at the bottom of the list. Florida just signed a Mental Heaelth Reform Bill.....don't have the specs as to what it covers. The northeast in VT, NH, NY,Mass have very good mental health programs.
Unfortunately, almost all crisis requirements have to be suicidal or homicidal. Even doctors are telling patients if you feel you need hospitalization.......tell the E.R. you are suicidal. Hopefully things will get better nationwide. Thanks for asking Lost in the woods, always a pleasure to help ![]() |

Thanx for the info. Where i live, there are regional crisis teams. And they do mostly show up at the ER to do eval for hospilization, but they also have indiviual crisis hotlines and do have csps and pdocs on site always. You can call for any kind of mental health "crisis" diring office hrs they see ppl same day and some will make house calls and if you are in distress but not at emergency level w no health insurance or no treatment team they will try to help figure out and get you to the level of care they feeel is nessecary given their eval..they are also the ppl who show up when kids freak out at school, so growing up you always wanted to avoid hsving crisis called on you, then as an adult you end up being the one calling them for help. Knew about FL n Tx but Never knew we had it so good up here.. WoW.Learn something new every day. (((HUGS)))

Yes, I would see someone about this. There are medications that can help. I guess the real question is that do you want to rid yourself of these visions (I will call them delusions)? Have they impacted your life? Do they affect your decision making? Your routine? Your functionality?
