What am I dealing with??

My spouse came to me this summer with the revelation that he has a 40yr old daughter, with her own husband and brood of kids. I have always considered having a daughter and under most circumstances would welcome this idea. Thing is she was born after we got married. I have had some bad experiences with other females making me gun shy.

I am hoping to talk with a therapist. I am trying to understand what I am dealing with.

So, if I understand correctly, she has a daughter but she never told you? That seems pretty huge I don't know how would I react to that news. I'm sorry you have to deal with this

Its a little fuzzy. We were living together from 1976 to 1981; married in 1981 (aug); she was born in 1981 (nov). So i may be acting a little 'prudish' , also confused a bit.

I guess. Put like that seems petty of me. I just found out about the daughter.
We have two adult sons and we have always wanted a daughter.
When he had an affair we were not married, just living together.
I am skittish because I have not had successful female relationships.
