I've read about it but since I didn't feel good on keto I don't want to try IF at the moment. I missed my period on keto and I read experiences of several women who said IF messed with their hormones and periods. They say women's bodies react a bit differently to reduction of carbs and/or fasting and we have to be more careful. So for the time being I prefer having 3 meals/day.

Three meals a day is fine. It could be just a 12 hour fast like from 7 pm to 7 am. I don't know what happened to cause a missed period on keta. That sounds extreme! I think what you are saying is good...just lowering carbs. I can't tell if you are vegetarian or not. But the thing is...it is really easy to eat too many carbs on a vegetarian diet. But it is also easy to eat well-balanced. I think your idea of full-fat dairy instead of low-fat is a very good idea...and that seems like it would be okay insofar as hormone balance. It sounds like you are open to learning. That's so cool, too.

I'll create a low carb thread in this forum (general Q and A) so that we don't go off topic here.

I came home and my mom left out this strange-looking meat stew...I took two bites from it and now my body wants to throw it up...I can't do this anymore...There has to be a discussion about it. I don't want to eat meat anymore...I just can't do it anymore...

I won't comment on the off topic...no idea what you're talking about.

Let my parents know...they don't support it in any way. Of course the pressing question was "What are you going to eat?" I didn't say this but I'm 26 years old FFS I know how to cook my own meals.

My parents LITERALLY stormed out of the room when I told them I didn't want to eat meat. You would think I have just told them I was gay.

After a long talk with my cousin, this is what I shared with my mom:

Mom, I wanted to talk to you about our earlier conversation. It's an embarrassing topic of not eating meat as it is a staple to our meals and you've never been in favor to vegetarianism. I was not exaggerating by my post, I do not know if it is the stress of work and school and Stephan, but for the past couple months my stomach gets upset when I eat meat, I do agree with what Dad said that the rich crockpot meals may have been too much for me. I don't want to overstep my boundaries with your meals, because even though the taste of the meat is good, I think my stomach is telling me I've had too much rich meat dishes. I told myself that I would wait until I move out before making the switch to vegetarianism because at 16 I had no power over grocery shopping and I had no ability to cook, but I 'm worried because my stomach isn't settling with dinner. It's in my values to be aware of how the meat comes to the dinner plate and the effect it has on the environment. Personally, I feel healthier when the majority of my nutritional intake comes from fruits and vegetables. I am not asking for you to change your routine to cater to mine, but I would like to reduce the amount of meat I consume to settle my stomach. If this helps, I can cook meals ahead of time so it gives you time to cook your meals, or I could simply have an eating-right meal. I know you work hard to create dishes everyone loves, and I really appreciate it. I love you very much.

Oh this sounds so great! So you told her this or you wrote it on paper? I'll be waiting to hear her reaction!

I’m not even sure why there needs to be correcting. I guess we all grow up different, but there was no way in hell at that age -even if I did live at home at that age would my parents have any type
Of control or say over what I choose to put into my body, but maybe that’s a different thread for a different time or just my issue. You are an adult, you can grocery shop and make your own meals. Your parents will be mad (which they shouldn’t really care at all if you don’t want to eat meat) and then they will get glad again.
Although maybe it’s also just par for the course if you live with your parents into your adult hood? (I wouldn’t know. I was long gone by your age.) You leave yourself subject to criticism and their values instead of being able to live your life the way you want? I’m not judging. I’m genuinely curious how this dynamic actually works that parents get upset if their ADULT children want to change something as simple as a diet. Is it part about the money and time she spends to cook? Because then she could just make smaller amounts-just enough for her and your dad and you can do your own thing at meal
Time. Your body might also be overloaded with iron and that might be its way of telling you-hey..stop. I need a break from this heavy food.
Thanks for this!
