After learning I keep gaining weight for no reason I have decied to go on a diet. No starting Monday crap. But like now. I have never been on a diet. But I need to go on one. I won't tell you all my weight but I will say, my husband and I have been married 8 years. I have gained almost a hundred pounds in 8 years That's alot. In high school I weighed 250 but in the summer before 10th grade I dropped 80 pounds and grew an inch and a half. The docs ran every test on me they could and chalked it up to late puberty. Well I stayed like that until well for 1) I got sober 2) my mom got sick and died) 3) I was on anti depressants for a year. All of that happened in one year. I think all those things together made me fat again. So I have decided to go on a diet. I don't know how though. Any one got any tips? I don't even know where to start. Thanks y'all

Hi thunderbear. I'm feeling the same way as you. I started eating healthier a few months ago. Havent dropped any weight from that. Its these damn meds im on. But about another week im starting at a gym and hopefully will drop pounds there.

I wish you luck. Cause i know this weight issue really messes with my self esteem. Sounds like it does with you too.
Thanks for this!

I would try to eat balanced meals . Stay away from foods that are
high in saturated fats . Try not to eat after 8:00 pm .
And exercise , aerobics , swimming , running , etc.
I would check with your family doctor about how much exercise
would be safe for you . There are alot of good sites online
that can help you make the right food choices .
I try to eat as healthy as possible but every now and then I
have to have my potato chips and chocolate bars .
Good Luck Hugs

Exercise, try to stay completely away from sweets, carbohydrates, junk food; try to eat lots of fruits and vegetables and chicken, NOT fried, and a little beef, low fat. Drink lots of water, not sugary drinks. I wish YOU the very best!!!

I have always found it easier to increase my activity rather than trying to starve myself. And I don't mean running marathons, just doing housework more often, parking the car further away, going for a walk every day - no matter if it's only a 10 or 15 minute walk. Any chance to move more helps, even shaking your leg while sitting.

As for eating just try to eat healthy, but do not deny yourself reasonable portions of things you like. Reasonable being the key word. Eat smaller portions and smaller meals but eat them every 2 - 3 hours, if constant hunger is a problem. If real hunger is not a problem then when you get the urge to eat even though you aren't really feeling particularly hungry, try doing something else instead for say, 10 minutes - do something you like, besides eating.

These are things that have worked for me in the past. But I think you also have to take into consideration your genetics and just your own personal habits and work out your own personal diet/exercise program.

than an "I'll say a prayer" or a "god bless you."
Doesn't make me feel better, no meaning to me for sure.
Can't stop you from praying and blessing me,
and if that makes you feel better feel free.
But keep it to yourself please, don't tell me.
And let's all respect each other's feelings.
With kindness, support and "sweet dreamings."
Thanks for this!

A healthy balanced eating plan with plenty of water is the way to go. Keep it real and don't deprive yourself of anything. Best of luck.

Crying isn't a sign of weakness. It's a sign of having tried too hard to be strong for too long.
