What Are You Thankful For Today?

Today I am thankful....period.

Today I am thankful for the new friends im making on here

Today I'm grateful for Jan and her caring posts and funny stories about her dad and his cute and weird behaviour...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JBUG!

i am thankful:for the wife who says it's hot dogs tonight,
because she is home with me, and not out with someone else.

for the husband who is on the sofa being a couch potato,
because he is home with me and not out at the bars.

for the teenager who is complaining about doing dishes
because it means she is at home, not on the streets.

for the taxes i pay
because it means i am employed.

for the mess to clean after a party
because it means i have been surrounded by friends.

for the clothes that fit a little too snug
because it means i have enough to eat.

for my shadow that watches me work
because it means i am out in the sunshine

for a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and gutters that need fixing
because it means i have a home.

for all the complaining i hear about the government
because it means we have freedom of speech.

for the parking spot i find at the far end of the parking lotbecause it means i am capable of walking and i have been blessed with transportation.

for my huge heating bill
because it means i am warm.

for the lady behind me in church who sings off key
because it means i can hear.

for the pile of laundry and ironing
because it means i have clothes to wear.

for weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day
because it means i have been capable of working hard.

for the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours
because it means i am alive.


and finally, for too many e-mails
because it means i have friends who are thinking of me.

Thanks Rhiannonsmon...I am having a great day today. I got to go to the local scrapbook sale and get a few things. I got a thing that goes around my license plate on my car that says I'd rather be scrapbooking and a few neat things to play with on my pages. I got a workout DVD and a very cool ring at the Farmers market. I even have $10 left to spend. Mom and I are going to the mall next week because our mall sends you a $10 gift card for your birthday if you sign up for their eclub so of course I did. So I am going to go to the grownup version of Claires to get some ear rings and stuff. My Grandma always gives me a few bucks so she may do this tomorrow and if she does then I will get some nail polish at Sephora when I get my birthday gift from them. My birthday actually isn't until Friday but I am all for celebrating all week. My family is leaving on Wednesday to go to Nebraska until Monday and will be bringing back my sister. I am very excited about this because I love my sister to pieces and can't wait for her to come.

Even though I end up having to put on a jacket and socks and slippers because I am cold I am still thankful for that.

I am also thankful for a mom that understands when I tell her she needs to keep the rest of my birthday money in her purse and not let me have it unless I am with her. I dreamed about going to the line to buy cigarettes. The shampoo I used to wash my hair this morning is giving me the taste of a cigarette in my mouth so is making me crave on really bad. So now that I have the money it is all I can do to keep from going to go get some. So I told my mom she needs to keep my money and not let me have it unless I am with her.

That my son came home today, to his kids, (my angels) after being gone for 5 weeks.

4. how my cat stole my seat - we were both on the couch, I stood up to get something, came back and he had spread himself out

I'm thankful that is rained today.

getting out of the house

I'm thankful I have parents that care about me so much they will let me live with them while I am healing. Yes groan and moan about how I feel about how I am treated but deep down I know they are trying and it is hard for all of us.

I am thankful that I got to see one of my step-step-sons today. (It's been almost 2 1/2 years since I've seen him) He has gotten tall and hansom.

Today I am thankful for second chances.

That I got out of bed.

I am thankful for the fun crew I am training with at my new job. I have already made two new friends.

A burst of unexpected energy and then clean and tidy kitchen, all the washng done, the garbage out for collection and we're over the hump of winter and the sun is staying up a little longer
