I am thankful that I am continuing to heal and my owie is getting smaller all the time. Everytime Dan (my home health nurse) measures it I am just amazed at how much smaller it is.

I am thankful for the manager at Ruby Tuesday who is being very nice and baking my french fries tomorrow instead of frying them.

Today I am thankful for eggs over medium fried in bacon fat, thick cut bacon and buttered toast with homefries, and of course coffee with cream. Thank God I don't eat such things more than once a month, if that. My GP would have a fit. It must have been nice in the old days to be able to consume such foods without the slightest guilt, polished off with one or two Lucky Strikes or Camels. 1925, where are you now that we need you?

Why isn't there a drooling emote? lol That sounds delish

Today... I'm trying to be thankful for something other than being alive. It's hard to be thankful for even that.

I guess I'm thankful for others' happiness. Sometimes it doesn't rub off in a good way, but at least I know happiness is attainable, even if it is from the simple things.

Let's make a wish
Easy one
That you are not the only one
And someone's there next to you holding your hand
Make a wish
You'll be fine
Nothing's gonna let you down
Someone's there next to you holding you
Along the paths you walk

I am thankful for
  • this thread - reminds me of the good things in my life!
  • that my friend's lovely wee cat has an infection and not something more sinister as we feared
  • porridge and soya yoghurt and peaches all mashed together for breakfast
  • coffee
  • being able to cancel today so I can recover after a busy week (very tired and sore)
Thanks for this!

Today I am thankful for (1) beer; (2) brandy; (3) Harry Connick; and (4) cigarettes, understanding that soon, if I get the second job I'm after, I will have to give up everything except Harry Connick. My wife loves Harry Connick, and I think he's one of the best jazz musicians around.
