ARGH!

After a fortnight of excercise I weighed myself today to discover...
that I've not lost a single pound.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

unless your doing like pilates or yoga it is hard to loose weight right away, any kind of cardio or anything with weights even running will cause you to gain muscle mass therefore not loosing weight since muscle weighs more than fat does.
Don't be discouraged you probably have lost some weight it also depends on when you weigh yourself and how much liquids you have consuumed and your salt intake.....i do agree with you on how frustrating it is i litteraly fluctuate 5 pounds threought the day because of all the water and fluid intake as well as food and if i decide to be sodium fanatic that day!
eat lots of watermelon and celery cabbage are some even chocolate is a diaretic if you tend to pack on water weight (parsley tea works very well too)
Thanks for this!

I think I've probably gained a little muscle, and lost a little fat under my arms, so I guess your right. I'll keep it up, and we'll see where I am in another couple of weeks. Thanks for the encouragement.

I believe it takes time.
Patience and determination are the key here. Its why it often doesn't work - people generally lack these two things.

Get in the routine and go, go, go.
You'll see a difference over time for sure.

Don't be discouraged. You will notice the difference if you keep up your hard work. No matter what the scales say.

I agree with the others it takes time, be patient with yourself and keep exercising. It's so good for you. Also make sure you'd doing good exercises - I don't know specifically for you but I've heard from my doctor and in general that you want around 30 minutes of some form of aerobic exercise at least 3x a week. Weight training is also good/other muscle related activity I've heard you're not supposed to do that every day but give your muscles a break inbetween.

Hey guys, thanks for the encouragement. I've decided to take some of the stress out of dieting by ordering prepacked meals from dietchef... three meals and snacks, calorie controlled so I won't have to keep weighing my food and worrying about portion control. We'll see how I get on. Still excercising (running mainly) and thinking of trying to see if I can remember my tai chi yang style. I'll let you know how the diet works.

I think one of the important things to remember with exercising is to start off with measuring yourself in inches. Since you do gain muscle mass and it does weigh more than fat mass, measurements are more important than weighing yourself. In time, you should be finding that your clothing fits a bit looser as you gain muscle and loose fat.

Keep going....I know how discouraging it can be at times. You will be rewarded for your hard work!
