I joined a hiking group to try and meet some new people. I'm a little nervous. It's a 30 min drive, and I was going to bring my dog but idk if he can handle 3-4 hrs of hiking. It's an intro hike, laid back, and easy trails. I'm nervous that I can't keep up. I would like to go but idk if I shoul. I walk the dog daily and am not overweight. Idk tho. Suggestions? Bring the pup or no?

I would say for the first meeting...leave the pet home until you find out from the group if bringing along a pet is okay with everyone.
Thanks for this!

Sounds good Nicks...get the feel of the scene and see how it goes first. I envy you! Northeast US...Adirondacks? Appalachians? Thereabouts? I miss the woods badly...enjoy all that good stuff Doggie!
Thanks for this!

Thanks for replying so quickly. I did see that someone posted they are bringing their dog too, so I'm pret sure it's dog friendly. I think bringing my dog might make me feel a little bit more comfortable...having my buddy with me and also a type of icebreaker, u know?

I'm definitely going to go

Well I survived- they were really nice people but idk if I'd be able to hang wih any of them- they live too far away. To be honest I was so out of shape- they were walking so fast. I'm not a slow walker but I am short and they were booking it! Idk if I'd go again, but it was a good experience. I do feel bad i didnt bring my dog- he woulda loved it! Now - shower and nap time....
