actually they don't. They have the choice between the Bible or by swearing by the court (covered this in law class). They have their Affirmation (this isn't just for Atheists though; it could be used by people of other religions as well).

There was some news about a North Korea movie by Sony Pictures back in Jan. 2015. There was threats to attack movie theatres if we played the movie the United States. Sony put off airing the movie and they got criticism at allowing terrorists to make decisions for us. It was aired on the web instead. There is two sides to this situation. If they aired it and there was were shootings/bombings or whatever mayhem came from it then we could say, "They ought to have listened to the warnings before playing it." If nothing happened we could say, "We won’t let terrorists dictate what happen in the United States."

I wonder, was it the response of not being attacked that made it right for them not airing it when it was supposed to come out?
I wonder if there was a US attack because of playing the movie what would have actually been said about it?
I wonder how with all the murder such as the cartoonists in France how far this terrorism is going to go?
I wonder how it will impact how we live in the USA?
Thanks for this!

Exactly. When my wife was being sworn in to jury duty they actually offered to let her bring in a copy of a Sutra or other Buddhist religious text to swear over. She just thanked them and swore by the court.

I wonder why men's news is always about women ...

I wonder if my jacket is really gray or if it's maybe blue or something ...

I wonder if my coworker will bring in Vietnamese food for Tet (he wanted to celebrate today here at work) or if he'll bring in Chinese food ...

I wonder how people with really bad personalities - I mean the kind who get EXTREMELY hostile at RANDOM for NO good reason at all - manage to get along with each other.

In my old neighborhood, there were SO many people like that. People who couldn't socialize properly to save their lives (literally...) and would curse you out and threaten you if they so much as overheard you telling a friend that you don't have time to go to the laundromat that morning. Yet they have groups of friends that they hang out with daily and get along with easily.

How the **** do they do that without killing each other?

I also wonder why my hands haven't frozen off yet. I'm not wearing any gloves out here.😮

I wonder if I'm going to be able to shake off my Trazadone? It's been three hours since I woke up and I'm still fighting to keep my eyes focused.

Writing testing plans? Sure. That does say kittenschnickel right?

I wonder if shoelaces are still called shoelaces when they are on work boots? Are they actually called bootlaces? Do people just call them "laces" to cover them or are they really called bootlaces?

I wonder if hair used to be thicker and stronger.( with no split ends)...how did they make those tiny litle bits and bobs for jewelry?

I wonder why, genetically, men are at higher (many times) or lower risk than women in many illnesses? I wonder if it is related to the Y chromosome? Yes it makes us men and without it they are female. I wonder what the connection is with gender and disease? Why men?

Hi Ruftin I hear u on that but WHY? Is it due to the Y chromosome because men seem so much more venerable to illness than females. It makes me wonder if it has anything to do with it?

Some of these illnesses you speak of (color-blindness for instance) actually have to do with the X chromosome carrying the recessive gene trait (Xc), not the Y chromosome.

The reason it's more likely for men to develop it has to do with probability. Since men have XY, if they get any Xc carrier gene, then they will get that trait. Whereas since women have XX, they will need two X chromosomes carrying the Xc gene to develop the trait.

Perhaps you were conditioned to be okay with being alone against your will. As a young child, we often have no control or say over our environment. So we develop a coping mechanism that allows our brain to say "I'm okay with being alone," even when we feel lonely.
