You cannot live without breathing.

Just a few minutes of daily practice will work.

Breathing is life. Enjoy it. Savor your life.

Conscious Breathing - alive

Th only time I even think about breathing is when I am very anxious or stressed out. At those times I can't draw an easy breath. I have found some ways of relieving that stress and anxiety that works most of the time. When I draw that first easy natural breath then I know what I'm doing is working. Any other time breathing is just a normal reflexive action.
I'm sure many will find your link very helpful and it was thoughtful of you to post it.

Yes, I do work with my breath. It's so easy to ignore or forget to follow our breathing, but it is so very important to do so.

Thanks for the reminder, Serzen.

I'm trying to pay attention to it not only in meditation, but also during the day. It's hard but really nice and worth it.

Yes, I do, especially when I'm stressed or anxious. It really helps.

I try but when I think about my breathing I either accidentally slow it down and end up soon gasping for air, or more commonly speed it up slightly and hyperventilate and that has it's own set of complications. My brain tends to mess up anything it overthinks.

Yeah, it's more about feeling it, not thinking it.

I must be doing it right I have read about meditational breathing but I just don't have the patience or it turns out like Mike J's results. I figure its best for me to leave well enough alone. My gf mentions concern once in a while about difficult breathing or worrying about not breathing. I tell her that if she forgets to breathe, her body will remind her. I do make sure she knows it's meant as :^)

I love this. Some of the best advice in terms of being present and how to help anxiety. I've heard of this in meditation. Those who struggle with turning off their thoughts and concerns are asked to focus on their breathing. Thank you for this reminder ☺️

This is something we practice in dbt therapy, part of mindfulness. I find it helps because I know my breathing is almost always shallow and not deep. When I do deep breathing it makes me feel better.

I should pay more attention to my breathing.
Right now I only pay attention if I'm not breathing.

I've no choice but to pay attention to my breathing, as I have a tic which impairs the process a bit. Not a lot, mind you, though it can become bothersome when it takes a while to feel resolved.
On the bright side, it makes me appreciate the simpler tics.
Thanks for this!

I have lupus and thanks to that I have pulmonary fibrous. A lung mass and nodules so I have to pay attention to my breathing and do breathing treatments 3-4 times a day. It really sucks.

She self harms and often struggles with suicidal ideations/ has made plans in the recent past. Prozac at 50mg daily pooped out in 2015 leading to hospitalization, new med trial (lexapro) and another crash. Now tapering off the lexapro and adding effexor. Hopeful yet very concerned
