I found this on Pinterest and here is the description that comes with it:
Unique Collection of Artistic Blown Colorful Multilayer Glass Vases. Modern design with antique flavor inspired by the bold color themes and the shapes from old glass artisans.... Bright colors, unique design and excellent craftsmanships. 100% colored glass, no paint has been used for decoration

Yet another of my favourites from the groundbreaking performance/installation artist. This is Red Wax that he used....He never ceases to amaze me...so visceral.

You guys.

HappyCrafter, you should open an etsy shop and start making some money off your work! Do you use a torch and everything when you make your own beads?

I wanted to 0pen an etsy shop (I actually did) and sell my mixed media "paintings" (they're on canvas, I combine bits of trinkets and "trash" in an artful way) and sell, but I think no one would really appreciate my style.

I think my etsy shop has personal identification on it so sadly, I cannot share it with you guys (prefer to remain pseudonymous on here).

Thank you!! That is quite a compliment! I have sold a lot of my work over the years.

I buy all of my beads. I do make some pendant types with polymer clay that are lots of fun to do. I do have a small business where I will sell my writing about recovery and how I have overcome my upbringing and turned my life around. I am setting up a fundraiser on Fundly to raise money to advertise. 30% of what I raise will go to my local domestic violence shelter. I want to post tutorials on my blog showing how to make different crafts but that will be down the road. Right now, my best bet is with my writing, so that is where my focus is. But thank you again for your compliments!! xoxox

Empress Elisabeth by Franz Winterhalter, featuring a gown created by Charles Frederick Worth. This looks exactly like the costumer Emmy Rossum wears as Christine in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera movie!

Charles Frederick Worth is the Father of Haute Couture. Here is what the Metropolitan Art Museum says about him: https://www.metmuseum.org/toah/hd/wrth/hd_wrth.htm

I encourage you to read it, it is very interesting!

I ran an etsy shop for a couple of years, a few years ago. I loved it! I so enjoyed the craft work I was doing for the shop, designing the shop was a blast, and I met some amazing people that I'm still friends with. My shop is still there, but on hiatus. I've been thinking of reopening it at some point. Oh - and I made some decent money, too.

Like the detail lettering on your rocks? You do that by hand? That amazes me!

Yes. I began learning hand lettering when I was fifteen. I was very fortunate to have a teacher who was immensely gifted, and a successful artist (she still is). I took workshops from her and took to hand lettering right off. When I started college my major was graphic arts...then computer art became popular. I wasn't really into that, so changed my major to social sciences. But I've always done hand lettering and sign painting, and have made some decent money at it.

This is simply a majestic eagle zeroing in on something to grasp. No website for it, I found it on Pinterest with a link that went nowhere. It reminds me of the last scene in the Hobbit movie where Bilbo and his travel companions were rescued.

Thanks for keeping the thread alive, HappyCrafter and everyone else who is contributing! Sorry I have been away for a while. Needed some time to focus on my life.

Here's a question: Do you guys consider poetry art?

Oh, yes. I consider poetry to be one of the arts. A literary art, I suppose.

I consider all forms of expression 'Art'. From gardening through to fashion & architecture. What is considered 'good' Art is of course very subjective, but without art to feed our souls we are lost.

I just got my painting accepted to a local jured art show (I have to deliver it this morning), it’s not that local actually, it’s about 6 counties making up the area. I used to exhibit in different shows few times a year and then took a break for a year but I guess I am back in game. There is nothing like art. Life is meaningless without art.

How exciting! If you want to post one, I would LOVE to see a pic of your painting. -And I agree about art.
