I get irked both by people who drive slow in the fast lane and won’t get over and by those riding your bumper when you a) aren’t in the fast lane and b) are already going over the speed limit. Very annoying.

When people become mean and vicious for no “good” reason. They could be “strong” (apparently) .. or not. All sorts of people are mean. And they all suck.

My coworker kind of irked me today but I just kind of felt more sad then anything else. I knocked on the door to be let in this morning and instead of actually unlocking the door and opening it for me she just unlocked it and then kind of huffed off. I opened the door and then locked it back up myself. I don’t know what her problem was. Maybe she was just really busy. Usually the person who lets you in opens the door for you and locks it behind you.
The confusing thing is I saw this coworker at the grocery store yesterday but the store was very crowded and I had never been there before and I was in the middle of signing up for something. I saw her briefly but didn’t have a chance to chat. By the time I glanced back she had left. But today it was almost like she was acting upset at me for not acknowledging her at the store. I have so, so much going on she is the least of my problems, but it’s kind of irking me.

I know this issue might seem minor, but I detest one-ply toilet tissue.
![]() Most of the things people have mentioned here are irksome to me, too. But I think that's a good thing. ![]() I get irked by people who get wrapped up in the fact that I am below average in height. So what if my legs are a bit shorter? Why should that matter unless I'm trying out for basketball? And I get irked by people who always find something to criticize. Last edited by Travelinglady; Oct 09, 2018 at 04:27 PM. |

Coworker was scratching herself inappropriately. She was doing it in a very noticeable manner. She could tell I knew she was doing it and she was still doing it. It was really awkward. Plus she knocked some of my stuff over too. She only works hard and fast when I work hard and fast. Like she’s mirroring me. Therefore I have to work really hard and really fast just so we get everything done. I sometimes feel like everything is in my hands even though I take way too much responsibility.

I can't say I care much for fart jokes, once you're past the age of 12.

comercials that involve guidedogs for the blind.
not only are they usually long and tedious, but in my opinion, they are taking away people's attention from the real pressing issues.. child abuse, animal abuse, raising money so that comunities can build wells, raising awareness of the signs of a stroke/ heart attack, getting people to run for cancer awareness, getting people to give blood, adopting a snowlepord/ some other endangered animal, that type of thing I don't want, on my tv screens every few minits, " can you sponsor a puppy" |

People talking loud on their phone in a store or something so everyone can "hear" them. We don't care what you're saying, go some place else.

When people make a huge deal when you decide to dress differently for once. I usually wear jeans and a t shirt or North Face or something. One time I wore tan pants and a sparkly blue sweater to a therapy appointment. It wasn’t even my choice it was for a group project where we had to get dressed up. The receptionist checked me in and I waited for my therapist to call me in. When my therapist called me into her office she said “the receptionist said you were dressed differently today.” I don’t get why it needed to be said. Why does it matter if I was dressed differently? It’s almost like they were saying that there’s something wrong with the way I usually dress.

When I go to a store with an atm I hate it when the store worker puts the card in for me. I know they are trying to be helpful. I do realize that. OTOH it feels so intrusive. I like to do things myself and I figure if I want their help I'm capable of asking for their help.

I took the day off yesterday for a scheduled window replacement. I had to do so as I have a dog that would pretty much prevent the crew from coming in if I wasn't home. I really had to beg to get the day off. It ended up they never came by - after pushing the appointment back several times. They just never showed up. It is not like I have the sort of job where I can just walk away from the office as I please to come home and meet them there. IRKed? Well yeah.

When you call a doctors office and they won’t talk to you over the phone. Like they won’t ask the doctor a question for you. You HAVE to set up an appointment and actually go in there just to get a simple question answered that very well could have been answered if the receptionist had just taken the time to ask the doctor over the phone.
Is anyone else’s primary doctor like this or just mine?

Stupid, annoying commercials. I think my least favorite is that hotel chain with the "badda book, badda boom" ad campaign. Not only that the slogan is just so dang nauseatingly dumb, but the whole concept gets on my nerves. Staff keeps coming up with all these creative and clever ideas, and the boss keeps shooting them all down. Gotta do it his way or no way. Just overall yecch.
I know a lot of advertisers are annoying on purpose, so they'll stick with you. You hate those commercials, but at least you remember them. In this case, though, it's getting to where I want to boycott that hotel chain as a matter of principle. I hate it that much. I also mute the TV or change the channel every time those commercials start airing, so I don't have to hear it. |

At work 2 of my coworkers will hand me something saying they don’t have room for it. Or it doesn’t belong on their side. Then I will get something that belongs to them and they will tell me to just put it on my side. It’s so hypocritical and it really irks me. Last week I was about to hand over a box of stuff to my coworker and she said “just put it on your side” then less then 10 minutes later she came over with something to give to me. I was so mad at myself. I wish I had said “why can’t you just put it on your side like you’re telling me to do?” Someone else was complaining about it on Saturday. Talk about double standards.
I can’t tell if she’s that dull that she doesn’t realize what she’s doing or if she’s doing it deliberately but next time I’m going to say something.

I get irked by people who share biased opinions without properly researching them first. I would prefer an intellectual debate in which sources are provided and opinion comes second to fact... I guess I may be a peculiar person.

When good and hard work gets rewarded with more of it.
I am in a position these days where I work gruelling physically demanding days. There are those who slack and scive. My reward for a positive work ethic? To be assigned with the more difficult and labour intensivve tasks requiring a great deal of effort. Their reward? As they can't be trusted to complete a more involved task they are given something instead mundane and easy. It is as though they are getting rewarded for a complete lack of ethic and effort. So, while I break my back intensively cleaning this new store being built they do no more than lean on a broom - for in some cases a great deal more pay than my own. It hardly seems fair, does it? |
