Friends,

Who is cooking?

Who is not?

Those of you who are cooking will you share what you're going to make for the big day?

Since there's just hubby and me, my current plan is to make chicken cutlets. My goal is to keep it simple.

Thanksgiving Plans We (hubby and i) are having Thanksgiving dinner with my son's inlaws (or I could say my daughter-in-law's family). Not counting us, there will be 23 for dinner.

Not sure about the menu but it does include 2 turkeys. One is the traditional stuffed and roasted. The other however is a fried turkey with some cajun spices. Always moist and tender with a flavor to die for.

I'm responsible for the sweet potatoes. I'm still hunting for a good recipe. Since I don't particularly like them to begin with, finding a recipe makes it all the more fun.

My family is scattered to the four winds (WA, AZ, IN, PA, VA) so won't be together. Unfortunately, Ecards and phone calls will have to do. However, we are looking forward to celebrating the holiday with our extended family.

We're going to husband's Ex's house in a next door state, I guess 2 to 2-1/2 hour drive. Husband and Ex have been e-mailing and there's been vague thoughts that I could bring veggies and dip for appetizer but nothing positive. I may just get one of those at the grocery store Weds or something.

Husband's Ex won a ham from a radio station promotion, she was caller number X and then her sister was given a turkey that a guy she's dating was given at his work (and apparently he's coming to dinner too? but he is single so didn't have any wherewithal to cook it) so we're having "free" ham and turkey :-)

I am getting out of dodge on Thanksgiving day. My parents and I are going to Nebraska to see my nephew Jeffrey who is currently residing at Boys and Girls Town. They went to see him last year but I was on crutches and they were going to go to the zoo and stuff like that so I didn't go. But this year my feet are happy feet and can walk so I get to go. I am very excited. I haven't seen that boy in 3 years. I get to give him a huge hug and tell him how proud I am of him and how great of a job I think he is doing.

P.s. for the person looking for the sweet potato recipe Paula Deen did a good one on her show the other day that if I was staying here I would be trying FYI

<font color="purple">Well, the day before we (as in my brother, dad, and I) are going to my uncle's house (who oddly enbough is old enough to be my grandpa...) were the majority of my dad's side of the fasmily gets together so we can all enjoy thanksgiving together. (same thing happens with christmas) my only qualm is that I still have to sit at the kids table even though I'm 16 D: at least my bro (who is 18) has to sit there too, as well as a few cousins who are my same age. Then, the day after, I am having the actual holiday with my dad and stepmom , we are going over to her place were we (my dad, my brother, my stepmom, her son, and her parents) are going to have thnksgiving together.

I get to have two thanksgivings! 8D

Ah, Kaika, the kid's table! I remember it well. I'm glad your brother has to sit there too. In a few short years when your nieces and nephews are around it will become fashionable for adult to sit there (to get their "own" table away from the kids who will be sitting at the "big" table) or others will be sitting there and laughing and you'll wish to be sitting there, LOL

There will be me, my oldest and her son and my friend here for Thanksgiving dinner. The other daughter and her b/f are going to spend the day with his dad's family and will go out to a restaurant for dinner.

We'll do the traditional, turkey, potatoes, squash, turnip, boiled onions, yams, green bean casserole and plenty of baked goods for dessert. Oh, can't forget the shrimp cocktail and chips and dips and pepperoni and cheese and crackers too Thanksgiving Plans

Hope EVERYONE has a wonderful Thanksgiving! And for those who will be spending it alone, please know that you are all in my heart and prayers.......

My immediate family and I did our Thanksgiving tonight. Mom made turkey roast, sweet potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy. For dessert if I had stayed there would have been a pumpkin dessert but I'm supposed to be doing homework but am procrastinating LOL.

As for me, I am working Thanksgiving Day, Friday and Saturday. When you're pigging out, enjoying your 4-day weekend, and being surrounded by family and friends, think of those of us who are toiling away and eating frozen dinners! Thanksgiving Plans

Ahhh for us it's the traditional turkey and stuffing. Parents, inlaws and a couple of friends will round out the party to about 14. So stressful sometimes but once the food's on the table all is well!
