Do you think this sounds okay as a email to a homeless charity?

Quote:
Hi, I'm gathering up brand new winter clothing for the homeless and am looking for somewhere to donate it to, that will hand it out to the homeless and not sell it on in a charity shop. Do you have somewhere in (my area) that I could take it to, for it to then be handed out to homeless people? Or if not, do you know of any other charities in the (my area) area that would hand the clothing out to the homeless and needy? Thanks for any help.
I put (my area) in brackets cause I took that information out so I can post this without getting tracked down.

It’s perfectly fine. I think you might get a quicker answer if you maybe call them?

I really struggle with phones though, in part due to number dyslexia meaning I can't read phone numbers nowadays, I used to be able to read them if I broke the numbers down into "felineangel's brain can cope with the number" length, but my dyslexia been getting worse as the years have gone on, so email is a lot easier

Would I need to send them my personal contact information in the email? I haven't included anything identifying at all in it so far

I'll be sending it tomorrow after work, need to make sure it's sorted first.

I don’t think you need to put any personal info unless they want to pick up stuff at your house or want you to make an appointment with them
Thanks for this!

Your intentions are sound and I think it's wonderful what you're doing. I'm a stickler for written communication so I did a couple of tweaks to your message. I realize this isn't school but my inner writer couldn't resist. Whatever the case, thank you for your compassion to those in need. The world needs more of that.

My version:

"Hi, I'm gathering new winter clothing for the homeless and am looking for somewhere it can be donated and not sold second-hand. Do you know of a location in (my area) that would accept it? If not, do you know of any other charities that would distribute it for those in need? Thank you."
Thanks for this!

So i got several coats, gloves, a blanket, trying to think what else they could use

Would thermal flask type things be any good, for hot drinks? Or would they not be able to use them cause they cant get hot drinks?
