If I tell my mom I don't want my niece and nephews over?

My sister drops them off a lot and they are all over the place and my nephews are loud and my niece is still 2. But my mom says yes every time my sister asks. I just feel like I have boundaries too sometimes.

MD, maybe instead of saying you don't want them to come over you could tell her they are loud and it gets on your nerves. Then try to come up with a solution with her. That way you are partnering with her instead of telling her what to do.

You have my sympathy. The kids are just being kids, but they would get on my last nerve too.

Yep. have a plan? In the middle take them to a park. Run off some energy? Play some games, try and get them to focus? Play their favorite movies. Just to name a few

Well it is your mother's grandkids and she has every right to see them in her house, as often as she likes
Thanks for this!

Then I guess I have every right to hang out in my room most of the night so I don't have to deal with them.

Definitely, you can stay in your room. It’s your right.

It’s a better plan than telling grandma not to have grandkids over. I hope it was just a hypothetical question and you weren’t really going to tell her not to have grandkids over
