explain something to me?

On my way home from my niece's graduation today (thank you to the 2 of you who cared ), I saw: 10 dead deer, 2 dead wild turkeys, a red-tailed hawk (alive, thank god), and a state trooper.

I got stopped because the strap that has been holding my muffler on is now half off. Yes indeedy, it's been that way for at least a month. As he went back to his car to write me a warning, he noticed that my passenger side mirror was gone. Yes indeedy, hasn't been there for over a year now.

I got a warning. No points, no ticket to pay, no big deal. But after he looked at my license and registration, he asked .... "Do you have any weapons in the car?"

Can somebody tell me what kind of criminal is going to answer that honestly?

"Sure, officer, I have 3 AK-47s and some sawed-off shotguns in the trunk. Let me just pop it open for you so you can take a look."

I mean, you know?

I don't get it.

I think that is something they ask alot these days. I would think they might ask if you looked more like a criminal though

I was armed with a can of Diet Coke and a digital camera. I guess they could look like bullet cartridges. If you're on acid or something.

Also, I just saw my electrologist last week and I no longer have a stache like that.

At least it was only a warning. I would definitely keep that camera in its holster next time.

Many states (especially in the south) allow concealed weapons. In states that allow this, when you are pulled over you are immediately supposed to reveal your guns, take them out of your glove compartment and place them on your dashboard.

Somtimes people who are carrying concealed weapons forget. That is one reason why they ask.

Wisconsin hasn't even had the death penalty in 150 years (yes, since the 1850s). I assure you we do not allowed concealed weapons. And due east of us (MN), there are signs posted on every single business entrance saying that guns are not allowed on the premises. So it's not really an issue here.

You might have been coming from the gun store since Wisconsin also has no waiting periods or checks or lists, etc., just the concealed rule. Maybe he didn't want to appear impolite by looking directly into your back seat?

THis reminds me when I was crossing the boarder into Russia from Finland. the customs questionaire asked if I was carrying among other things:
- nuclear weapons
- biohazordous material
- chemical weapons
- artillery of any sort
- heavy weapons

Like if I was I would really declare it???
