I remember we used to play a game between us girls, where we would all pretend to be a unicorn and each had a different color eyes. Each eye color had a different magic power - like blue had the power of water, brown of earth, ect.

When I look back now i think how imaginative that was for a kid and her friends to create. One of the girls that played with us, the one who made it up, is now a published fantasy writer.

Me and my brother played forts. We'd each make our own forts in the hay...it was so cool. We'd take the hay bales and make a fort.

Another game that was played was with me and my sis....during bath time we'd pretend we were mermaids in troubling seas...we'd save each other. Mom always said I'd be a great actress.

When I was around 7, I was friends with a couple of boys in my year and we used to play a game we called "Explorers". I can't remember exactly how it went, but I think one of us went out into the playground and pretended to be a wild animal - the other two would be explorers who discovered this animal and captured it. They'd lead the animal into the veranda near the door - the animal's "enclosure" - and would try and tame it.

I'd also play pretty much the same game with my sister and two friends we went to the swimming pool with once a week - this time, though, two of us would be whales and the other two would be scientists. The enclosure was the shallow end of the pool, I think.

Oh, and with the same friends at the pool we'd also play a game involving us pretending to be dogs...can't remember much about it, though.

This takes me back! Inventive Games You Played As a Child

I swear my stuffed animals and I had our own society going on. Inventive Games You Played As a Child I always liked playing the generic games like "house" and alot of variations of this game (only if I played as the animal though). My brother and I would sometimes pretend he was a hunter and I'd pretend I was a deer and we'd chase eachother aound the house until I finaly cralwed into my little den (a blanket over the space in between the couch and chair). When my coudin Jeremy was over, we'd sometimes use piles of wood we found out in the yard with other branches to try and build a fort together, they always ended up falling apart in a few nights or after a storm though, so it was a never ending quest to build the most stable shelter we could.

My sister and I would play the car game. She would lay on her back and I would sit on her knees and I'd reach down and touch her eyes, nose, ears etc and she's make different noises for each and then all of a sudden one of them became an ejecter seat and I'd get flipped off.
