Yesterday morning, as the sun was approaching the eastern sky, my friend was murdered. He was 61, the father and father in law of my friends. He was shot in the face outside of a "breakfast" restaurant for the keys to his car, and then the SOB who gunned him down couldn't get the car to start. So he shot the passenger and fled to find another car.

My heart is vomiting grief. My friend is beside himself. I feel like a light has been snuffed out in my world.

OMG, Gracey -- "I'm sorry" doesn't begin to cut it. I don't know what to say, though. How horrible for you and for your friends. I'm just so sorry. What a horrible trauma at an already-traumatic time of year for most.

I hope you have good help to get through this. We're all here if you need us.

Love, Candy

Gracey,
I'm so sorry for your loss. It is especially tragic occuring so close to Thanksgiving.

I live 60-70 miles south of Kansas City, and the number of senseless murders has been horrifically high this year. A poor man was shot dead this week riding his bike home from work. The two who committed this crime have said that they were bored, and they were looking for someone to kill. It is so sick.

I'm so terribly sorry for your loss, Gracey. It was close to around this time last year my ex boyfriend (whom I was still bestfriends with) was brutually murdered over stupidity. I know the grieving is hard to deal with, but I promise with time it'll get a little easier to deal with each day. My thoughts and prayers are with you and his friends/family. May you all find some sort of peace and comfort during this horrible time.

We are celebrating Thanksgiving tonight. . .a rather poignant celebration at that. I am thankful it was not my beloved Paul in that restaurant. .. how twisted is that? I cannot imagine how "J"s family is getting through tonight.

Tomorrow will be the funeral, at 10 Eastern time. For those of you who pray, please pray for me as well as the family and friends of this family. They still have not caught the bastard who did this. The locals are concerned about a public "affair" with the funeral as they have no motive yet as to why this guy killed this man and wounded two others.

I don't know how I'm going to make it through tomorrow. My T is out of town, and unavailable, so I'm kind of on my own. Well, I guess not. . .not really. One other thing I'm thankful for. . .you guys.
