So today I'm eating and it feels like I have food stuck to the inside of my cheek. I can't get it so I go into the bathroom and look inside my mouth and there are 2 spots that are really dark colored on the inside of my cheek. I'm trying to figure out what it is and when I touch it there was blood on my finger. So I scraped that nasty thing out and rinsed with Listerine to sanitize it but I'm still really weirded out..... I get cold sores on the inside of my mouth but this was NOT a cold sore. This thing was dark red, almost brown and was apparently full of blood. I'm pretty freaked out by this.

Hi, I have no idea what that is inside your mouth , but it sounds serious and sounds like something you need to seek medical advice or a doctor to check it out to make sure what it is and how to treat it. Has any doctor ever seen this before? I would suggust getting professional advise soon. Hope it works out. take care, kk101

I have something similar happen to me when I woke up one morning. I grind my teeth in my sleep and presumed I bit myself. I debated scheduling an appointment but it went away relatively quick (2-3 days and felt much better after I drained and rinsed it). If it persists or gets worse I would consult a physician. Let us know how it turns out.

![]() Could also maybe be a sensitivity or allergy. (Such as may occur if you drink too much orange juice, for instance, the citric acid gets ya!) But, I wouldn't use Listerine in this case (actually, not at all.) Products like that kill ALL the bacteria in your mouth, and you need good bacteria to stay healthy. ![]()

Sounds to me like you simply bit the inside of your cheek. Hard enough to break the capillaries, but not hard enough for a full-on bleed. I've done this a few times. Since you scraped it, it is probably going to be sore for a few days, and possibly could even trigger a cold sore.

Don't forget to rinse with warm salt water - mother natures remedy.

Thanks. It is kindof sore so biting my cheek makes sense. I have been keeping an eye on it and it hasn't gotten bigger or anything. The only reason I'm kind of scared is because I'm a smoker so anything that happens on the inside of my mouth kind of freaks me out.
