Have you asked your surgeon if a gastric band would be an option? The weight doesn't come off as fast, but the procedure is less invasive and reversible. You won't have dumping or over sensitivity to alcohol like with the bypass.

It still requires the eating and exercise discipline like with the bypass to be completely successful, but it isn't as risky.

When I had my GBS my surgeon told us that the lap band isn't a real good idea because of the complications that could arise from it. Also when I was doing my research the band that they are using right now has only been approved by the FDA for a couple of years and the one they are testing now would be a better idea. If you want to have weight loss surgery please PM me and we will talk.
